The New CollegeDudes Gay Porn Scene Features A Confederate Flag

Despite being a racist symbol of slavery and white supremacy, and despite being commonly used by hate groups like the Ku Klux Klan, gay porn studio CollegeDudes apparently saw no issue with putting a Confederate Flag on display in their latest gay porn scene. A tattoo of the flag is on the hand of gay porn newcomer Brian Michaels, an OnlyFans model turned gay porn star, and it’s seen prominently at various points throughout the video.

confed2 confed1

Michaels was introduced to the industry last year by his friend and fellow performer Cliff Jensen, whom Michaels served prison time with in Florida (like Jensen, Michaels is also an ex-convict).

Regardless of one’s views on a symbol like the Confederate Flag—some still try to claim that it’s a symbol of “southern heritage” (so, in other words: slavery)—it’s not clear why a gay porn studio would choose to put a symbol as controversial as this in their content. Couldn’t they just hire any other OnlyFans model who doesn’t have a Confederate Flag tattoo? There has to be at least one.

For his part, Michaels addressed the controversial tattoo last December, telling followers that it was a “mistake” he made in prison, and that he was “led astray”:

confed1That’s good to hear, and recognizing one’s own ignorance is a step in the right direction. But Michaels’ admission last year is obviously not part of the new CollegeDudes scene, so as far as anyone watching the video is concerned, CollegeDudes is fine with waving around a Confederate Flag in their gay porn. What kind of viewer wants to see this?

Why would any gay porn studio (or any business at all) choose to have this symbol representing their product? And again, why couldn’t they just hire someone—anyone—else? No offense, but people with racist tattoos just shouldn’t work in visual media that’s based entirely on their physical appearance. Sorry. (Or, at the very least, the studio could’ve used make-up—or a glove?!—to cover the fucking thing up.)

In 2016, gay porn performer Cameron Diggs was called out for his white supremacist tattoos, and some of his scenes were subsequently pulled down from studio websites. (He was later arrested for manufacturing meth during a SWAT team raid in Texas.) And, just last year, several performers and fans took issue with a “Best Ethnic” category at a gay porn awards show, leading to the removal of the category and a broader discussion of the problem with racism in the gay porn industry. With this CollegeDudes release, that problem, obviously, is nowhere near being over.

If his explanation is sincere, OK. That Cliff Jensen helped him get into porn…not a shocker. It would be nice if he’d have it amended since he’s contrite about having gotten it, and why. But if he continues in this genre I’d say please cover it up or wear a glove because being sorry about being ignorant and doing it to survive in prison, I get. Keeping it now that you know better, I’m not going to support.

  • Xzamilloh

It was great that he had a transformation, but I’m pretty sure that as tatted up as he is, covering it up with something different wouldn’t be an issue for him. Have another line drawn through it and say it’s an asterisk symbolizing the nature of his sexuality and that his straightness comes with a footnote, like letting dudes suck his dick on the side, Goddamn, straight porn stars, do we as gays have to do everything for you, including giving you ideas on erasing your racist ink???

    • Zealot

I meant to upvote you! Sorry. Mea culpa.

      • Xzamilloh

Oh, no worries at all :)

    • peter

They could have done something to camouflage it. Obviously not a big issue for Blu Media, the folks who brought us Paul Canon and Damian Kyle.

      • David Delray

Vadim Black is currently slinging a M4M dating app… like what… a few seconds ago you were crying about being in gay porn on MTV… if he don’t sit all the way down…

    • Default_User

Having know something about tattoos, the problem here is likely twofold. One, it cost money. Since he is an ex-con who is trying to get by by doing porn, i doubt he has money in the bank just to get a coverup tattoo. Second, considering the really dark design, the coverup design would be a bitch to execute. He would have to practically cover his entire hand with ink to accomplish any meaningful coverup or change in design.

      • Zachary Sire

Why is anyone supposed to care about what he might have to spend or endure to fix the tattoo? He’s not some charity case that a studio is obligated to hire so he can
pay for tattoo removal. He may be a good person who has turned his life
around, but he simply shouldn’t be doing this kind of work with that
kind of symbol being displayed, and it’s absurd that a gay business (or
any business) would want to be connected to a symbol like this as part
        of their image.

      • Bastian

Oh poor him, he has no money, that’s why he’s doing gay porn, to cover up that “mistake” with our gay cash.

      • McM.

A person with a hundred or so hours of ink covering his body would know how much tattoos cost, and how much tattoo cover/correction costs. All of that didn’t just happen. There was a systematic budgeting of time and money involved. The same effort can be placed into erasing the tatt on his hand.

But I could be reaching here.

        You tell me.

        • David Delray

Yes just like the systematic oppression that black men and women endured while people joyfully waved that flag in their face… worse people believe it is a symbol of their heritage as though slavery and jim crow laws are something to be proud of… to the point of displaying it proudly on your person… no i do not care the cost, time and pain that will be associated with him getting this fixed. It is shit like this that pushes the idea that black gay men in porn is not worth a studios time… case in point hiring a person who would clearly have an issue with that.

“I adapted to my situation” means “I had to get in where I fit in so I didn’t get my ass beat.” Which is all well and good. But you’ve been out for how long? Have you not thought of getting it corrected? Seems like that would be simple enough to accomplish.

Now, remember that alleged beating someone said Cliff endured in prison that left him almost dead and without funds in his commissary? Was that alleged beating related to him not taking the Mark?

    • C A

That story was a lie. Someone was trying to get money from the story.

      • Scrapple

You didn’t think I actually believed that story, did you?

        • C A

I thought you may have been having a……..moment, shall we say. I’m glad to see you have most your “faculties” about!

          • Scrapple

Lol. I know a stunt when I read one.

  • Derek

Why does the editor of this site get offended with any one person having the slightest difference of opinion in the way they view the world?

    • Izzy

This might be the first time anyone has every claimed that racism is just a slight difference of opinion LOLZ

      • Mike Julius

Unfortunately, no. It’s a talking point of the alt-right AKA white supremacists. Really disappointing someone here is stupid/disgusting enough to use it sincerely.

  • wdeee

I think he’s sincere in his explanation and that we should cut him a break. It’s just porn and you never know someone’s individual situation.

    • Izzy

Choosing to walk around with a racist tattoo means that you are choosing to be called a bigot. Don’t blame normal people for being repulsed by something repulsive. He says that getting it was a mistake. Continuing to display it means that its not a mistake that he doesn’t care enough about to correct.

      • Default_User

covering up a tat costs money, and most straight guys don’t make gay porn unless he needs money. Maybe you should give him a break and let him make some money so he can feed himself and get a new tat down the road. I don’t like the tat either but he does not sound belligerent or mean.

        • Zachary Sire

He’s not some charity case that a studio is obligated to hire so he can pay for tattoo removal. He may be a good person who has turned his life around, but he simply shouldn’t be doing this kind of work with that kind of symbol being displayed, and it’s absurd that a gay business (or any business) would want to be connected to a symbol like this as part of their image.

          • Izzy

I see why the studio hired him. There will always be a certain type of person that finds something sympathetic in overt symbols of violence and racism. Studios will do better when enough of their customers stop making excuses for racist behavior.

        • wdeee

          This!

  • n24rc

So basically, this guy went to jail to discover a penchant for white supremacy and gay sex — Schillinger?

Fill free to post animated gif’s of nudes from that show…: Wink.

    • B.C.

I was thinking the same. Undeniable OZ parallel. Took me a while to see where lies the problematic tattoo. His body is a freaking graffiti wall.

  • C A

The breeding ground for both Paul Cannon and Damien Kyle. I’m not surprised.

  • Johnson

Cracks me up that all the editor noticed was the Confederate Flag on his hand. Should I say that maybe the females are offended of the naked woman on his arm? This is degrading females? Or maybe real fathers don’t like the Dad tattoo on his shoulder? Looks to me like Zach was just trying to put something out there on this blog to get us to respond. If he wanted to change something then reach out and offer to pay to have it removed instead of crying about it to the masses……………

  • sxg

Wait wait wait hold the fuck up…

Collegedudes still produces new content? https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/3bd9fdeb09137cbfc814b8525031737fe9aa3562494aced24b4dbe1d67b9c896.gif
I thought the site was pretty much left for dead like Randy Blue.

Oh and a gay porn studio booking a model with racist tattoos? https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/858eb9edbf47b1cfbeb3a70672ea22eaa19d2938e32ff739e0b2e1ee639973f4.gif
The only surprising thing about this is it’s not a scene directed by mr. pam or chi chi larue. We all know how much they love working with racists.

Well thankfully I don’t find this guy hot or else I’d probably be just as outraged as you Zach. At least he came on and addressed the issue better than Cameron Diggs did. If Brian really wants people to believe the tats are not a reflection of his character, then he should do a scene with a black man. And don’t find the lightest black man either. But good luck on that because I can’t see many black men in gay porn willing to bottom for a white man with a confederate flag tattoo.

  • AsherStClaire

Just have him book an appointment with a knowledgeable makeup artist about using alcohol activated tattoo cover paint until he can afford to get it removed. It’ll last through a scene (even with contact with bodily fluids) It’ll get him a lot less grief about it. Easy (temporary) fix.

  • Marik Ishtar

There are places all over the US that offer pro bono tattoo removal for convicted felons- especially if they are gang-related. Brian could call one of the laser clinics in his area and see if they offer that program.

Something that I find extremely exceptional is some job training programs for former gang members will offer to pay for removal of their former life’s tattoos once they enroll.

Now, what’s this about Cliff Jensen convincing him to do porn, how does that conversation even go?

    • Scrapple

Now, what’s this about Cliff Jensen convincing him to do porn, how does that conversation even go?

I would assume that conversation takes place during a round of “Felon Fellatio” or “Convict Cocksucking.”

  • Marcus Collack

Confederacy = 1. Tried to Usurp America through Violence and Force, 2. America’s first terrorist.
His explanation seems genuine, however, could have done something with it by now so…

  • Bastian

“I adapted to my situation” well, you’re doing gay porn now, so how about adapting to this? Cover it up, or get lost.

  • Baradude
  • Baradude
  • Hari Kalyan

Paraphrasing something I read but… this is perhaps the most dangerous form of racism when some uses excuses like ” i adapted to my situation”. It shifts personal blame where it ought not be, one. But worse, it’s this “go along to get along” mentality that let’s racism fester and thrive under the surface in society. It goes unchecked and your silence is tacit approval and encouragement. Now of course I know its prison so I’m inclined to give him a little wiggle room on this to do what he had to do to survive (he’s likely seen the Edward Norton prison shower scene in American History X) but its 2018 and tattoo removal/coverup is an actual thing.

  • nick

So the confederate flag is a racist symbol, I didn’t know that.

    • David Delray

Don’t you remember, that period in US history when the south decided it didn’t want to be a part of the US. Separated and then had a war to maintain its Independence because they were pissed that they didn’t have the right have slaves anymore… They waved a flag.. THAT ONE YOU FUCKING IDIOT.

      • nick

oh, right, so the Union Jack must be also, we waved while we were oppressing all the non-white people in the Empire, and when the UK was involved in the slave trade ?
Perhaps the Spanish flag is too, since they waved it while they slaughtered the indigenous peoples of South America ?
And perhaps the Italian flag, slavery was pretty commonplace in Ancient Rome.

        • David Delray

America we are talking about american History … can you READ. Our history is what it is. Which means that yes it is shitty for domeone ti wave a flag used as a symbol to opress MY FUCKING ANCESTORS….

You cannot use other historical events ans evidence that we should be ok with the waving if this flag … does that mean that i can point out that waving a Nazi flag is illegal in most european countires… no because it isn’t relevant ass hat.

          • nick

didn’t the Dukes Of Hazard have that flag on their car ?

    • pangelboy

Have you been living on Mars for the best year? I guess you missed the national conversation about removing Confederate statues and flags from public spaces, as they primarily serve as symbols of a time when minorities were harrassed, killed, and enslaved. And are currently being used by asshole alt-righters as some throwback thursday bs to the “good ol’ days” when darkies knew their place. It was sparked by the murder of Heather Heyer, who was killed while protesting alt-right assholes at their Unite the Right rally. I mean…c’mon. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/b06c3959069b9ae5c9b93310a7432f250516db4d24e5f385ca89b9e3391302e8.gif

    1. Wash the skin with soap and water.
    2. Apply primer.
    3. Color-correct with reddish-orange cream makeup (lipstick would work).
    4. Blend with a damp makeup sponge.
    5. Set with translucent powder.
    6. Apply concealer.
    7. Blend with a damp makeup sponge.
    8. Set with translucent powder.
    9. Apply a full-coverage foundation.
    10. Blend with a damp makeup sponge.
    11. Set with translucent powder.
    12. Fix with setting spray.

All of this can be done with cheap makeup and beauty products from CVS or Walgreens. The tattoo can be further retouched using Photoshop for the still photos. CollegeDudes—haha, yeah right—has no excuse for letting a hate symbol appear in its porn.
