Five Of Seven Rentboy Defendants Seek Plea Deal

rentboyFive of the seven Rentboy employees arrested last month by Homeland Security for allegedly promoting prostitution in violation of the Travel Act will seek plea deals rather than go to trial, according to court documents obtained by Str8UpGayPorn.

Federal prosecutors and defense attorneys for Shane Lukas, Sean Belman, Edward Estanol, Diana Milagros Mattos (pictured left to right above, and better known as Hawk Kincaid, Sean Van Sant, Eli Lewis, and Coco Lopez, respectively), and Clint Calero have filed joint motions requesting that indictments be delayed as the defendants are currently engaged in plea negotiations. Each motion states that these plea negotiations will “likely result in a disposition of this case without trial.”

Here’s the motion filed for Estanol (the other four motions for Lukas, Belman, Mattos, and Calero read exactly the same):

Each of the five motions were approved by the court.

The sixth defendant, Rentboy accountant Marco Soto Decker, also filed a motion for a delay—but he’s requesting time to prepare for a trial, not for plea negotiations. (The bottom portion of the motion signed by the judge, however, indicates the delay was granted for plea negotiations, which means that someone put a check mark in the wrong section of this document.)

As of post time, no motions for delay have been filed on behalf of the seventh defendant, Rentboy CEO Jeffrey Hurant, which doesn’t necessarily mean he can’t or won’t still seek a plea deal. If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison.
