DRAMA: “BrokeStraightBoy” Paul Canon Brings Mom, Dad, Brothers On Camera To Talk About Gay Porn Career

Posted August 19, 2014 by with 45 comments

dramaPaul Canon is arguably BrokeStraightBoys.com’s most popular model, which explains why the site chose him to participate in one of the most uncomfortable, oddly compelling, and ultimately eye-opening family “therapy” sessions I’ve ever seen. Not only does Paul discuss his nearly fatal drug overdose in front of his parents and brothers, he also argues with them about his sexuality—his brothers think he’s gay; his dad thinks he might still be trying to “figure it out”—in light of his career as a gay porn star. (Paul considers himself bisexual, in case you were wondering.)

The 28-minute video below is part of BrokeStraightBoys’ long-delayed and much-hyped “reality TV show” (by “TV” I guess they mean YouTube?), and it’s worth watching in its entirety for a number of reasons.

1. The look on Paul’s face when his mom talks about how he almost died:

2. Paul’s straight brothers:

3. Uhh, seriously, how insanely hot are these brothers. (That’s not a question.)

paul brother paul brother 2Fuck! Can BSB get the bros to at least film a solo (preferably together)?

The family shows up shortly after 6:30, if you feel like fast-forwarding.

I would do either of his brothers (and on a drunk night, his mom) before I did him….

    • NG212

He sucks a mean dick, though.

As soon as I saw this on YouTube I said I better tweet this to str8upgayporn so Zach can blog about it. Kinda different than the usual videos that Broke Straight Boys posts on their YouTube channel.

Too bad Paul’s brother in the blue shirt is not broke too he is hot. Glad his family is cool. He just needs to accept that fact that he is bi and stop using that “I don’t like labels” excuse though.

    • Loki

When someone says I don’t like labels, what they’re really saying is I don’t like the GAY label. Notice how when he’s pressed on the subject, he makes the “bi-sexual” concession.

      • JJ24

        Agreed.

      • Mihcael Davies

I agree, if you’re straight you shouldn’t have any problem just being open and saying it. Saying “I don’t like labels” is not something a straight guy would say when asked about his sexuality

      • http://twitter.com/seaguy11 Seaguy

It means to me “I’m a closet case too afraid to admit I like cock and am gay”.

  • https://twitter.com/ElitistEvan Elitist

I’m getting weird flashbacks of that scene from StraightCollegeMen where that guy was jerking it with his actual dad, and it’s not pleasant… But anyways, I wonder how much money they got paid to participate in this

    • Loki

It all reeks of exploitation. The porn company the guy works stages an intervention(?) with his family that wants him to quit porn??

      • n24rc

I don’t think they urged him, the parents(specifically, the mother) said he could do what ever he wanted to do, including porn.

I think they described some of the prior tumultuous history, and from their perspective they want to see him happy. As a parent, it’s unimaginable the horror they faced when he OD’d – anything that came afterwards is irrelevant if he is sober and happy. He looks well, so something must be working for him.

  • sxg

Damn why can’t the brothers be the ones “trying to figure it out”??? They are insanely hot, hotter than Paul!

  • n24rc

It is annoying that this “straight” guy is lecturing gays about what pride events are about…This is the crap that annoys me about g4p. If you’re straight, fine, but don’t lecture about hardships or any grief that is self induced. You don’t have to do gay porn, you don’t even have to do bareback sex as a bottom when he decided to do porn. Yet he did. This is why cannot stand porn companies participating in pride – which in itself is a farce.

When you have one of the brothers pointing out gayness as if it was a game of tag, it is a problem. This is a generational thing. You have the parents okay with it, as they came from the era of the sexual revolution. But the younger brothers clearly have the problem. The face on the mother while the dad is talking about making a choice is priceless, see 11:30. His dad seems nice.

It isn’t his families fault that he’s closeted – they seem okay and nice, it is Paul’s peers and brothers that is the problem.

    • Loki

I don’t think the brothers are the problem. They’ve lived with him all their lives so they know what’s up with him. He’s gay.

      • n24rc

In their own words the two brothers said they were always defending him from high school “witch-hunt” bashing.

How can you sit there and say on one hand that you were defending him(while being annoyed about it) and then perpetuate the problem with your other sibling?

The brother with two earrings(uh, lol) was even putting the second brother on blast even saying he was gay.

It isn’t like he took a stance saying that it was bullshit, that he felt it was bulling… it was more to do with the fact that it was an immature attitude… that you’d see in a game of tag when a child screams “not-it.” He was basically saying, I’m not gay- and the way he said it connotated superiority. It isn’t the fact that he proclaimed heterosexuality, it was the way it was done. I thought it was wrong, and indicative of what the true problem is.

  • NG212

I’m so glad everyone caught what I caught — Paul is somehow the least attractive brother, yet he’s the porn star.

That said, Paul is hot with his clothes off. And he always gets hard when he kisses a guy or sucks a dick. Nice to see he doesn’t actually consider himself straight.

Paul’s brothers need to stop being so close-minded and come back to BSB. It’s ridiculous.

  • Seth82

the bearded brother is a hottie.

why the fuck isn’t he doing porn instead of Paul.

    • Loki

Uh, maybe because straight men don’t do gay porn.

      • Mihcael Davies

        LMAO

  • Hi Presley

Are they all broke? Don’t they have to be broke to be considered bsb

  • txsaneman

I don’t think I could have done something so personal, especially if I were involved in the adult industry. So kudos to him for telling his story. It raises additional questions, but we rarely get so intimate a look at who some of these performers are and I appreciate it. Plus, I’d rather learn more about performers this way than through insane twitter rants that completely turn me off their work.

    • Loki

So hearing about his near fatal drug overdose, conflicted sexuality, and his family’s disapproval of his porn “career” doesn’t turn you off his work?

      • txsaneman

No it doesn’t. Only stupid people, racists, douchebags and holier-than-thou, overly confrontational assholes do.

        • Loki

What if his drug overdose had been fatal (as was the case with CF’s Sean/Matthew Bremer)? And he used his porn earnings to support his drug habit… you’d still be turned on by his work? Guess I’m not that desperate…

          • txsaneman

What ARE you talking about? You must have very strong legs, because that is one huge leap you just took. Obviously done so for the sake of baiting me into giving you the attention that you appear to desperately need.

          • Loki

So not caring to hear about someone’s drug problem or watch their disapproving mother crying all within the context of porn… makes someone a racist douchebag?? Now who’s making the leaps, du mbass… :/

          • txsaneman

            (sigh)

          • Loki

            :|

          • dfilmknight

Paul has been clean for some time and it takes a lot of courage and bravery to admit that you struggle with it every day. If you watch porn a whopping 99% of them dont have their shit together. Paul is an exception.

      • dfilmknight

        Not at all. He’s human.

  • Mr. Copper

All these gays who claim gay4payers are truly “straight” just need to sit down and talk about it with actual straight guys. You know, like the guys in this video.

Really makes you wonder what definition of “straight” they think everyone else in the free world uses.

Yet, we’re the ones who are wrong because we disagree with them.

    Ok………….

    • n24rc

I think a lot of sexuality gets glossed over in political identity discourse.

homosexuality and heterosexuality are ideals in a world that doesn’t exist. We don’t live in black and white. It is shades of grey. I think some guys need to come to terms with their same sex attraction whatever way they identify.

      • Loki

Heterosexuality is an ideal that doesn’t exist?? Funny that upwards of 80% of the human population have no problem identifying themselves as straight/heterosexual. It’s treated as the motherfuckin’ default standard. The issue here has always been GAY-ness (and it’s not merely a political affiliation) and how the pervasive homophobia and heteronormativity in our society prevents/discourages people from owning that truth about themselves.

        • n24rc

the distinctions between straight sex and gay sex is varies. Straight couples have anal and oral sex. It is silly to assume that straight couples are having vaginal intercourse all the time.

Do you want to know how many guys (straight) presumably don’t do anal at all because it might expose them to the idea that it really could be any gender they could fuck? I’ve met straight guys who won’t do it, under any circumstance – even with a woman, because they are totally freaked out about that concept.

Anthropological studies have shown our ancestors partook in homosexual acts frequently. We are no different than chimpanzees in this regard.

Finally, homosexuality – while it is shown historically, it wasn’t really identified as anything outside of the norm or considered a “identity” that people rigidly held. That was in the last 100 years, a reaction to the Victorian sensibilities that are still prevalent to a certain degree.

          • Loki

Your sexuality isn’t determined (solely) by the type of sex you have! Does a straight soldier who has his dick blown off by a grenade suddenly have the potential to become gay?! Is he technically a lesbian? Your argument is patently ridiculous! There are gay couples who do not engage in anal sex at all, and strict tops who do not receive anal sex, are they any less gay or homosexual?!

          • n24rc

you are a ranting lunatic…”Your sexuality isn’t determined (solely) by the type of sex you have!” — I just stated that. You lack reading comprehension.

          • Loki

“Do you want to know how many guys (straight) presumably don’t do anal at all because it might expose them to the idea that it really could be any gender they could fuck?”

Uh, you’re the one equating gay sexual identity with anal sex, dumbass. It sounds like you’re one of those idiots that thinks everyone is actually “bi-sexual.” Once a straight guy experiences anal sex, the idea of fucking a dude in the ass doesn’t seem quite so disgusting, right? :/

          • n24rc

If you cannot read the post properly, and are making assumptions, then this conversation is pointless.

            For you:
            http://www.aglp.org/pages/LGBTFactSheets.php

Maybe after you review the fact sheet, you can get a referral for your rage and abusive tendencies.

          • Loki

You’re the one who can’t communicate properly, asshat. Whether or not straight couples have anal sex has nothing to do with gay identification. A straight man who engages in anal sex isn’t suddenly more amenable to having sex with a man.

  • Odetofear

A lot of love for the brothers, they just seem ok to me. I find Paul to be the hottest one.

  • Todd

Paul is not gay. He is European.

  • Scott

Do I think it’s possible for straight men to have gay sex? Sure. Do I think anyone has the right to designate anyone else’s sexuality because of what they choose to do? Absolutely not! Let the kid live his life and come to whatever realizations are in his future. So he’s not ready to put a “label” on it? So what, maybe someday he will and if he doesn’t, does that really affect any of us? Personally I thought this was very insightful and he tackled some very hard issues head on and I for one give him props, and his whole family, for having the courage to do so!

    • Dazzer

Couldn’t agree with you more. I actually fell a tiny bit in love with Paul because of this clip. He seems such a self-aware, considered and intelligent man – and, as you say, let him live his life and come to whatever (hopefully happy) realisations are coming his way.
And his family is amazingly cool. I wish all families were that accepting.

  • David

Watching the pron above, all I’m thinking about are the individual reactions of his family members when they first saw it. AND YOU KNOW THEY DID!!! Especially his MILFy mom and the little muffled scream with each change of her son’s position/activity. Those are reaction videos I want to see!

  • Odetofear

OMG, I use to put a shirt on my head and pretend to have long hair too! This is my 2nd time watching the video and i can relate to Paul. I had a hard time to. You fit in more with the Straight crowd, but that label feels dishonest because of course you like men. Bisexuality comes with a lot of baggage and Gay doesn’t fit even though everybody wants to label you that because you have same sex attraction. Just like him, I spent HOURS and hours over the course of years trying to figure myself out. You do end up committing to the bisexual label. The thing is when you’re a guy and bisexual, you feel on the defensive to prove you’re not gay. Not that it’s offensive, but that it’s something that you’re not. It’s like if someone is ambidextrous (use both hands) but the majority of people keep telling you you’re right handed. There’s nothing wrong with being right handed but you’re ambidextrous. Then again, i have to be honest, if people labeled me straight, i would not get so hung up on it. I’d still feel it doesn’t label me, but i wouldn’t be on the defensive. You can’t help but to live in a heteronormative society I guess. I don’t know how old Paul is but I’m 29 and starting to get to the fuck it stage, where if someone thinks i’m gay. Well fuck it. I got to be ok with me and fuck everybody’s opinion. It’s easier with friends, co workers but family is difficult. Like Paul, my dad and brothers swear I’m gay and it makes for a tense strained relationship
