Exclusive: Director Chi Chi LaRue Suspended From “All Future Contracts” At Noir Male Following Sexual Assault Allegation
Last week, performer Papi Suave came forward to accuse Noir Male director Chi Chi LaRue of sexually assaulting him while intoxicated in a hotel room during production of a Noir Male feature in March of 2019. Two days ago, LaRue admitted to “excessively drinking” and inviting Suave to his hotel room, where LaRue said that he “expressed feelings” for Suave. LaRue would not confirm or deny the assault claim (Suave alleges that LaRue forced his hands down Suave’s pants and told him, “I’m going to make you a star”), and instead said, “I do not remember the events playing out exactly as [Suave] describes.”
Today, Mile High Media (the parent company of Noir Male) Vice President Jon Blitt has issued the below statement with regard to Suave’s allegations and LaRue’s role as the director at Noir Male, announcing that LaRue has been suspended from directing movies at Noir Male. LaRue has been the sole director and producer for Noir Male following its launch in 2018, but because LaRue (whom Mile High is clearly distancing itself from, identifying him as an “independent third-party producer”) may have been in violation of the company’s zero tolerance policy regarding sexual misconduct, “Mile High is suspending all future contracts with LaRue’s production company,” said Blitt. Here’s the statement announcing LaRue’s suspension:
“Mile High was made aware of allegations of misconduct by one of our independent third-party producers, Chi Chi LaRue LLC, that may be in violation to our zero tolerance policy. In light of these allegations, Mile High is suspending all future contracts with LaRue’s production company, pending an independent investigation into these allegations. At the conclusion of that investigation, a final decision will be made, based on the validity of the allegations in question. We do not tolerate misconduct on the part of anyone involved with our associated production projects, and take these matters very seriously.”
Pending Mile High’s final decision, it’s not immediately clear if another director and crew will be replacing LaRue at Noir Male (and sister studio Icon Male, where LaRue also directed), but given current COVID-19 shutdowns, most porn productions are already on hold right now.
Mile High and Blitt’s swift response and suspension of LaRue marks a significant shift in the gay adult industry’s handling of sexual misconduct allegations and otherwise unethical (if not illegal) behavior committed by people of LaRue’s stature. Hopefully, this will be a wake-up call for others who use their positions of power to harm or abuse performers.
