President AOC In 2024?
The Hill has a list of 10 Dems who could run in 2024 to replace Biden (I guess this is assuming he either dies or decides not to run again). Their first two pics are Kamala and Mayor Pete, who are actually worse than Biden and stand zero chance. But a few of their other options are decent, including AOC (who probably won’t do it, but it’d be nice to see her in the mix):
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) is also an influential leader of the progressive movement, and her star is only continuing to rise within the Democratic Party. The Democratic lawmaker tied with Elizabeth Warren at 8 percent support among potential Democratic primary voters in the Morning Consult survey. Ocasio-Cortez, 32, would be eligible to run for president in 2024, but she appeared to brush off any presidential ambitions for the time being during an interview with CNN’s Dana Bash earlier this year.
They also suggest Gavin Newsom, and while I do like him, California is a complete disaster (given the exorbitant taxes we pay to live here, the amount of crime, homelessness, and crumbling infrastructure is truly insane), so I don’t see how he could effectively run the country (then again, no one has ever really been very good at running this shithole):
Speculation is swirling around the ambitions of California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D), who in September became the first California governor to survive a recall attempt, which put him on the national radar. Newsom garnered 3 percent support from potential Democratic primary voters in the Morning Consult poll. But the governor said in an interview with CBS News in September that a presidential bid was not on his radar at the moment.
Thankfully, they don’t have Hillary on the list.
Assuming Biden doesn’t run and the Republican nominee is Trump again, the type of person who could beat him would need to be an outsider who’s even more brazen and more of a showman/woman than Trump. I hate to say this, but because this country is such a fucking joke, it might have to be someone like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who’s actually said he would consider running.
