The Biden administration has negotiated the release of WNBA star Brittney Griner, who was arrested in Russia and convicted there in a phony show trial for possession of cannabis oil. In exchange for Griner, the United States is releasing “merchant of death” arms dealer Viktor Bout back to Russia, something Putin has been wanting for years. Sadly, Paul Whelan, another American unlawfully held in Russia for “spying” in 2018, was not part of today’s exchange, and he remains in a Russian prison.
