Meryl Streep And Husband Of 45 Years Split
Sad but not surprising news. Love is shit and never lasts. Although, they obviously spent a lot of nice time together and were very happy for many years, as evidenced by the sweet montage above, which I cannot believe someone actually made, but I guess there’s at least one Meryl Streep/Don Gummer stan on YouTube. News of the couple separating six years ago (right around the time the above clip was uploaded—which is quite a coincidence??) and a statement via People:
On Saturday, PEOPLE confirmed that the three-time Oscar winner, 74, and Gummer, 76, quietly ended the romantic nature of their relationship six years ago.
“Don Gummer and Meryl Streep have been separated for more than 6 years, and while they will always care for each other, they have chosen lives apart,” a representative for Streep said in a statement to PEOPLE.
