Viral encephalitis symptoms can mimic many other things, and I’ve read that it can often go undiagnosed (or misdiagnosed as something else), which can lead to horrific complications, if not death. While mosquitoes and autoimmune conditions can sometimes cause viral encephalitis, in about half of the cases, there is no known cause. Thankfully, Devin got a proper diagnosis in time and is beginning to recover.
