Nikki Glaser Was Paid $400,000 For Golden Globes Gig
Nikki Glaser did a fine job last night hosting the otherwise pointless and totally corrupt Hollywood circle jerk run by a group of “former” (sure) racist clowns, but I do wish she would’ve gone a lot harder at making fun of some of the people in the room, as well as the dumb movies nominated, including Emilia Pérez and Conclave. I will never watch Emilia Pérez, but I’ve seen enough clips to know with certainty that it’s the stupidest movie of the year, if not the decade. As far as the overrated Conclave, that movie being sold as a “gripping suspense thriller” with “wild twists and turns” is absurd. I grew up on soap operas with evil twins, people buried alive, and someone being possessed by the devil, and now (spoiler alert) I’m supposed to be “shocked” because one priest fucked a nun and another priest had a secret intersex identity? I liked Conclave’s “surprise” ending the first time I saw it in 1991’s much funnier and campier Soapdish.
Back to Glaser, she was paid almost half a million bucks for last night, per Deadline:
The roast queen was paid a bit more than $400,000 for her inaugural Globes hosting stint on last night’s 82nd annual Golden Globes, I’ve learned. That fee will rise “significantly,” a well placed source says if and when Glaser comes back to host the 83rd annual Golden Globes for the third year in the five-year deal the Globes has with CBS.
