Anthony Geary, General Hospital's Luke Spencer, Dead At 78
More heartbreaking entertainment news, as soap opera legend Anthony Geary has died at 78. As Luke Spencer on General Hospital, Geary holds the record for most Lead Actor wins at the Daytime Emmys, picking up eight trophies over the course of his four decades on the show. A cause of death hasn’t been announced, but it’s been reported that he died from complications following an operation he had in Amsterdam last week. Geary as Luke and Genie Francis as Laura were one of the most popular soap powercouples of all time, and Francis posted the below tweets this morning remembering her co-star and friend:
