Burn In Hell: Convicted Sex Offender And Republican House Speaker Dennis Hastert Dead At 84
Former U.S. Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert (R-Illinois) sexually abused at least four teen boys while he was a high school wrestling coach in the late 1960s and 1970s, but because the statute of limitations had expired by the time his hush money payments were revealed, Hastert was able to plead guilty to financial crimes only (not the sex crimes he committed), and he was sentenced to just 15 months in prison. Hastert was the highest-ranking politician in U.S. history to be sent to prison, and after his release in 2017, he lived in isolation as a registered sex offender in Illinois. Thankfully, he finally died over the weekend. Via CBS:
