Is NextDoor’s New Series “Hostel” Boring, Weird, Or Just Plain Bad?
Ever since they moved from Northern California to Las Vegas, NextDoor’s production quality has been declining in just about every way possible. Their new series, “Str8 Bait Hostel,” continues that trend.
In this first scene from the series—starring Alex Tanner and Damien Hyde—the lighting and/or videography (maybe it’s the camera they’re using?) feels cheap and dated (but not intentionally), as if this was ripped from some amateur studio’s DVD in the late 1990’s.
This scene’s b-roll is creepy as fuck, but that likely was intentional, given the theme of this series.
Like Helix Studios, it’s unclear how NextDoor determines which of its scenes will be bareback and which will use condoms (presumably, it’s up to the models), but they appear to be filming all their content—for NextDoorRaw and for NextDoorWorld—in the same house. This scene obviously features condoms.
This is the trailer they sent out to promote the launch of this four-part series, which starts tomorrow here. I have no idea what they were thinking.
