Another soap opera star has died, but unlike Days Of Our Lives star Bill Hayes, whose death at 98 years old was reported Friday, this actor’s passing is quite shocking, given he was only 50 years old. All My Children’s Alec Musser died suddenly yesterday in his Del Mar, California home, and his fiancée confirmed the news to Deadline:

Press said Musser died in his Del Mar home but did not disclose details of the cause of his death.

Musser played Del Henry between 2005 and 2007, credited in a total of 43 episodes. He scored on the ABC soap after becoming the winner of SOAPnet’s I Wanna Be a Soap Star Season 2.

With a two-year span on AMC, I think he might’ve been in more than 43 episodes (IMDB pages don’t always have the right stats on old soap opera episodes). Musser also appeared in Desperate Housewives and had a brief but funny role in the Adam Sandler comedy Grown Ups. Sandler took to Instagram and gave his condolences, writing, “I loved this guy. Cannot believe he is gone. Such a wonderful, funny good man. Thinking of him and his family and sending all my love. A true great sweetheart of a person”:

Musser was also known for his fitness modeling (he was 6’1″ and maintained an incredible physique), and you can revisit some of his personal and professional photos on his Instagram. Here are a few images, and his acting reel is below. RIP.
