Unless you’re from Louisiana or a hardcore political junkie, you’ve probably never heard of 51-year-old Mike Johnson. He represents about 750,000 (mostly) white people in the heavily right-wing northwest section of Louisiana (the 4th congressional district), and he is, of course, a brain dead MAGA ghoul who tried to overturn the 2020 election. Johnson is known to be a stark Trump ally and was a staunch defender of the former president during the impeachment hearings.
The Louisiana Republican led the amicus brief signed by more than 100 House Republicans in support of a Texas lawsuit seeking to overturn the 2020 election results in four swing states.
He’s expected to squeak by with just enough votes to become Speaker of the House today, mostly because all the worthless congressional Republicans are tired of being humiliated day after day for the last three weeks due to their complete ineptitude.
