Biden Walks Back Comments Saying He Wouldn’t Be Running For President If Trump Weren’t Also Running
The clip above is from yesterday afternoon, just after Joe Biden told a crowd at a campaign fundraiser near Boston, “If Trump wasn’t running, I’m not sure I’d be running.” I appreciate the candor (even though I’m not sure I believe him), but is this supposed to inspire enthusiasm in undecided voters? I’m only running for president because the other guy sucks. Then again, if you’re an “undecided voter” in a 2024 match-up between Biden and Trump, you truly must be brain dead.
Then, when Biden got home last night, he tried to gently walk back the remarks, telling the press pool outside the White House, “Look, he is running and I just have to run.”
Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I think all of this talk about potentially not running is being done deliberately to prepare people, and to soften the blow when Biden does actually drop out next summer. And if Trump is convicted and sent to prison and/or somehow beaten by one of the other GOP ghouls before next November, Biden will have the perfect excuse to quit. Bring on Hillary Vs. Nikki 2024!
