Country Singer Toby Keith Dead At 62
I only remember Toby Keith because of his horrid song in the wake of 9/11 about shoving a red white and blue flag up someone’s ass or something, and how he was in a feud with the Dixie Chicks over that song and their protest of the illegal Iraq war. The Chicks and Keith did eventually make up, thankfully. Sadly, he died yesterday of stomach cancer. Via ABC:
Toby Keith, a country singer known for “Should’ve Been a Cowboy,” died on Monday. He was 62.
He “passed peacefully” on Monday night, his official X account said in a statement on Tuesday.
The “Red Solo Cup” singer said in June 2022 that he’d been diagnosed with stomach cancer and was “receiving chemo, radiation and surgery.”
