Str8UpGayPorn: Hello, Felix! Before we start, I guess I should ask if I should call you Felix or Gatlin? I noticed you recently changed your name on Twitter to Gatlin Fox.
Gatlin/Felix Fox: Hi! Yes, my name is Gatlin Fox, but some people may know me as Felix Fox. The name change was the result of my hand being forced by Twitter, as my Twitter accounts kept getting suspended or deleted.
Ugh, I’m sorry. Seems like that’s been happening a lot lately.
At first, Twitter would give me reasons, but the past few accounts they deleted, they neglected to give me any sort of reasoning. So, after a lot of thinking and a lot of factors being weighed, I came to the conclusion that it might be safe to try operating under a new name. The name Felix has significance to me, as my familial lineage is primarily Germanic, and the name reminds me of my roots, as it’s popular in Germany. The name Gatlin is one that my friend Rhyheim and I came up with while we were filming. There’s a funny story behind that.
With Rhyheim involved, I’m sure there was. What happened?
So, Twitter had just deleted my third account and I needed to make a fourth. I was in the room with [cameraman] EyeFilmz, Elijah Zayne, and Rhyheim Shabazz, and I was incredibly high. And mind you, my tolerance to weed and other recreational drugs is incredibly low, as I do not find myself often indulging. So, I was pretty far out. We were talking about artists’ pseudonyms, and Machine Gun Kelly got brought up. I, in my stupor, was like, “I could be Gatling Gun Kelly”, since Gatling is another type of gun. I said it as a joke, but Rhyheim heard “Gatlin,” without the G on the end, so he suggested it to me, and it stuck. The rest of the night as he pounded my brains out, he just kept calling me Gatlin!
Ha ha, perfect!
But, that being said, people can call me whatever they want to call me. It’s the fantasy of Felix Fox or Gatlin Fox that I want people to be comfortable with. As long as I make them happy and smile, that’s all that matters.
That’s so sweet. So now that we’ve got that straightened out, how about some more simple info. How old are you, how tall are you, and where are you from? Do you have a day job, or is performing your main focus right now?
I just turned 22 today on May 18th, I’m six feet tall, and I’m from Colorado, but I recently moved to L.A. I don’t work any other jobs besides performing for studios and my personal fan platforms. I love what I do so much! I wouldn’t trade it for anything else.
When did you first start performing, and what made you decide to start?
I’ve been doing my OnlyFans for a couple of months longer than studio porn, which started in February of 2021. So, I technically started in November last year, and didn’t really do any collaborations with anyone until February, when I traveled to L.A. to do a collaboration with Cade Maddox.
What was filming your first scene like, and was there anything about it that surprised you?
Not only was Cade my first OnlyFans partner, but he was also my first scene partner for a movie with Hot House. There were so many things that surprised me. I was raised to believe that actors and other entertainers would behave in a pompous manner when you meet them in person, but that wasn’t the case. Most people I’ve met—and not just Cade—are some of the most real and genuine people. Everyone in this industry has something to say and a story to tell. They are so much more genuine than people I knew in my home town in Colorado, most of whom left me when I came out as gay, and the rest left when I announced I started doing porn.
What about your family—do they know you’re a porn star now?
My siblings all know that I do porn. I told all of them and they were all extremely accepting of it. I’m very grateful for that. My mom is the only one of my parents who knows that I do what I do. I don’t even know how she found out about it. Mother’s intuition, I guess.
Was she OK with it?
She was extremely accepting. She gave me the whole spiel of “you need to be safe” and “as long as that’s what makes you happy.” I’m extremely grateful to have such an accepting mom. I know there are countless others both in and out of my shoes who don’t have such ideal circumstances.
Whether you’re topping or bottoming, your skills as a performer are so intense and incredible, especially for someone so young and brand new. Did you know you’d be such a natural, and did it all come easy for you? Have you acted or performed before, prior to porn?
Thank you so much! No, I had no idea what to expect going into my first scene, or how I would perform or behave, or if I’d have a nervous breakdown. If I’m being completely honest with you, I’ve watched maybe three or four porn videos in my entire life, up until this very moment.
What?!
Yes! So, I didn’t know what was expected when I started, besides, you know, cumming on screen and stuff like that. But it’s funny, the first director I worked with, Trenton Ducati, said it was a good thing that I was so inexperienced with what porn “should” look like, as my reactions would be that much more genuine. I’ve never done any acting or performance work in the past whatsoever.
Are you as sexually adventurous off-camera as you are on-camera? And did past sex partners ever suggest to you that you could be a porn star?
It’s funny you mention that. I’m actually a lot more adventurous off-camera. A lot of the studios I’ve shot with haven’t really allowed me to do the kinky stuff I’m into. And honestly, I didn’t have a whole lot of sex prior to joining porn. So, I didn’t really have a whole lot of partners, let alone experienced ones, to tell me that I was good or bad. Being able to finally express myself sexually, whether it’s on screen or off screen, with people who also have sex for a living, really shows me what I’ve been missing out on. I’m loving it so far!
What do you do in your spare time when you’re not performing?
When I’m not working, you will find me either in the gym, or out traveling. The gym is something I’m extremely passionate about, and it helps me stay focused on longevity, health, and wellness. Plus, being buff totally has its benefits!
The hard work at the gym has definitely paid off. Do you travel a lot? It’ll be a lot more fun and easy now that COVID restrictions are ending.
Yes, traveling is something I’ve always been passionate about, even before I had a car. I would ride my bike to the mountains in Colorado and explore the trails up there. Now that I have my car, I go to different states’ national parks and forests, and can experience the joys of mother nature. Also, now that I’m about to receive my passport, I can expand past the United States and enjoy the rest of the world.
Being a sex worker in 2021 is not as taboo as it once was. What was your impression of porn and porn stars while you were growing up?
I grew up in a very religious household, and was taught that homosexuality was a form of sexual vanity. Additionally, pornography—especially being a porn star—was taught to be immoral. Now that I think about it, I don’t know why I was taught to believe either of those things, or if the people who taught me to believe those things even knew why they were doing it. As I started to grow up, I developed thoughts about how entertainers would behave. Like I mentioned earlier, I thought they’d be pompous or holier-than-thou with inflated egos. But obviously, now that I’m in the industry, I can see how wrong I was. Porn actors and actresses are some of the most real and authentic humans I’ve ever met.
I know you said you’ve only seen a few porn videos, but do you remember the first one you ever saw?
The first porn I think I ever watched was some sort of a daddy and son thing, where the top was this 6’5″ dude, very hairy and bear-like, and the bottom was a twink who was incredibly short. I think he was well over a foot shorter than the top! It totally turned me on. Speaking of, I need to find that video and re-watch it.
So daddies are your thing?
Oh yes, I have a daddy fetish. I always have and probably always will! No matter who I work with, whether my top is a daddy, a bear, a lean and ripped jock, or even if they’re a twink I will always call them “daddy” or “sir.”
I noticed you said “daddy” a lot in your CockyBoys scene and it stood out to me at the time, but now it makes total sense.
Before you started in porn, did you have any concerns about how it might figure into your life later on?
I did have thoughts, but I wouldn’t necessarily call them “concerns.” I knew what I was getting into, and I knew that some people in the past who have dabbled in the industry haven’t been able to gain access to jobs outside of the industry. However, I believe the world is undergoing a paradigm shift, and it’s becoming more accepting in the realm of sex work. Human beings are becoming more open and less dogmatic to sex. I think sex is becoming more normalized and better tolerated by societies all around the world.
I hope you’re right. Things are better than they were even just a few years ago.
In another decade, maybe more or maybe less, doors will open up to those who work in this industry and allow us to enter other industries with minimal friction. Businesses will eventually be less worried about their reputations being “tarnished” by someone who may have provocative media or adult work online. I do believe the narrow minded view of the past is changing.
Do you watch your own porn now, and do you critique your work?
I don’t watch my own porn, unless someone shows it to me for one reason or another. Even then, I simply cringe. It’s weird to watch yourself have sex. I do find myself critiquing my form and the way I do things sometimes, if I do see my videos.
What makes a good performance and a good scene for you?
The only thing that I try to do every scene is learn from my scene partner, since my scene partners are almost always more experienced than I am. There’s always room to grow. I think that what makes my scenes the best is when my partner and I have good chemistry, and I think that’s true for all scenes and all porn. If there’s chemistry, there’s sexual compatibility. And if there’s sexual compatibility, the performances are believable.
So very true. Finally, before I let you go, what can we look forward to from you in 2021? Any special message you’d like to give to your very loyal fans?
I do not plan on stopping at all. I plan on getting better and better! I’m going to work with as many people that will have me. There is a large world out there full of beautiful, beautiful people, and I plan on seeing that world and exploring all its inhabitants. To everyone who supports me, thank you so much for all of your affection and your kind words. Your support means the world to me. I want to start setting up meet and greets so I can establish a more intimate connection with the people who support me.
People would love that so much.
That’s something I want to work on. This industry is not only about the performers, it’s about the people who carry the industry, support those who work in it, and give performers a reason to get better. It is about the audience!
Sign me up to attend your first meet and greet! And thanks again for taking the time to chat today.
Thank you!
