Former NFL Player Arrested During Huntington Beach, CA City Council Meeting For Protesting Grotesque MAGA Library Plaque
I’m never proud to admit that I was born and raised in Huntington Beach, California, but seeing things like this remind me that not everyone there is a brainwashed cult member. At last night’s HB city council meeting—where all seven of the councilmembers are horrific MAGA fascist scum, some of whom have criminal records—former NFL player and now HB resident Chris Kluwe spoke in opposition of the council’s psychotic plan to install a MAGA plaque on the city’s iconic library as it celebrates its 50th anniversary (background on the “Magical, Alluring, Galvanizing, Adventurous” desecration of the library is here, and an image is below), and at the end of his perfect speech, Kluwe approached the dais to peacefully get in the face of the MAGA pigs. He was almost immediately arrested and carried out. Video:

Kluwe has long been an advocate for LGBT rights and has routinely spoken out against the MAGAts as an HB resident for the last 15 years. Kluwe with Anderson Cooper back in 2013:
And here’s the plaque that’s set to be installed, which is remarkable in the sense that it’s tacky, unnecessary, desperate, corny, cultish, and ugly as shit, all at the same time:
The massive library is a beautiful piece of architecture and is considered a historical landmark, surrounded by the city’s Central Park, ponds, an amphitheater, gardens, and more. I never in my wildest dreams could’ve imagined that this day would come on Str8UpGayPorn, but I’m now going to post something that was written last week by my mom, a 60-year resident of Huntington Beach, which she sent to the city council in protest of the plaque:
I’m a very long-time resident and library patron of Huntington Beach. I’m also a retired educator. I’m writing today in strong opposition to the proposed commemorative library plaque. This is not only poorly designed, but also uses inappropriate grammar. “Alluring” is a strange descriptor for a library when it is more typically used in a sexual connotation implying “naughtiness of a woman.” Overall, it is an embarrassment to our city and many of its citizens. Using the MAGA acronym is deplorable and a cheap partisan trick that is insulting and improper. This is so unnecessary, as we have a library to be proud of. Whether it be its award-winning architecture, vibrant volunteer organization FOTL (Friends of the Library), literacy programs, or professional, highly competent staff, there is much to be celebrated. Please don’t denigrate our library with partisan politics, but raise it up and incorporate its many strengths in the commemoration it deserves.
