Former Survivor Contestant Turned Christian Pastor Sent To Prison For Suffocating Children And Taping Their Mouths Shut

Raymond — who served as headmaster of Lakeside Christian School in Slidell, La. — has been found guilty on three felony charges of cruelty to juveniles for taping talkative teenaged students’ mouths shut. He also received a second-degree charge of cruelty to juveniles for holding his hand over an even younger child’s mouth during a temper tantrum. Police statements say he did this until the 4-year-old went “limp.”
John Raymond was on Survivor: Thailand in 2002, but he was the first person voted out that season, so no one really remembers him from the show. Instead, people will now remember him as the pastor sent to prison for taping children’s mouths shut. Sentencing is set for October 23rd, and Raymond faces 40 years behind bars. Via WDSU:
