Fox News Chyron Labels Joe Biden “Wannabe Dictator” While Carrying Trump’s Post-Arrest Speech
Via Deadline:
CNN and MSNBC decided to skip live carriage of former President Donald Trump’s post-arraignment speech Tuesday night, leaving Fox News as the only major cable news network to cover it live.
Fox News not only carried the entire speech, but at one point the network went to a split screen of President Joe Biden speaking at the White House and Trump in Bedminster, NJ. The network’s chyron read, “Wannabe dictator speaks at the White House after having his political rival arrested.”

The only way I could see this making any bit of sense (and it would still be absurd) would be if Trump had called Biden a “wannabe dictator” in his speech, and Fox then put those words into the chyron inside quotation marks, as a way of paraphrasing Trump. But that’s not what happened and Trump didn’t call Biden that, so the people working the graphics at Fox came up with this on their own. It’s insane, and yet still not surprising. We’re obviously way beyond the ability to ever be surprised again in this country.
