Gaga And House Of Gucci Snubbed At Oscars, Power Of The Dog Leads With 12 Noms

The 94th annual Oscar nominations are in, and while I was worried that Kristen Stewart would be shut out and Lady Gaga would somehow make it in for Best Actress, thankfully, that didn’t happen. The awful House Of Gucci got a Makeup nod, but that’s it.

Power Of The Dog leads with 12 nominations (I have no desire to see it—should I?), followed by Dune with 10 (one of the most pointless, boring movies I’ve ever seen). Also ridiculous: Don’t Look Up—the worst attempt at satire in years—is nominated for Best Picture and Screenplay. Embarrassing.

I still need and want to see Licorice Pizza, The Lost Daughter, West Side Story, and Drive My Car. Other than that, nothing else here interests me. (You couldn’t pay me to see Belfast.)

Most of the same movies are nominated over and over again in all the categories, and there aren’t really any surprises, other than Andrew Garfield, which is nice to see, and The Worst Person In The World (which I’ve heard is great) scoring a Screenplay nod:
