Gay Porn Star Mitch Matthews Arrested For Attempting To Rape Child

Gay porn star Mitch Matthews has been arrested in Kansas City, Missouri and charged with attempted statutory sodomy-deviate sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 12, Str8Up can report today thanks to a tip from reader D.V., which was confirmed in a local news report from Gladstone Dispatch in Missouri. Here’s their report on the arrest, which occurred at the end of April when Matthews (identified as Link Laithreach) traveled from Portland, Oregon to Kansas City with the alleged intent to rape a child, who was actually an undercover Homeland Security agent he had met online:

Three men were arrested as part of an operation targeting child sexual exploitation during the NFL Draft. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office and Homeland Security Investigations of Kansas City worked in conjunction for the operation.

“From April 26 to 30, three men traveled to Clay County to meet with whom they believed to be children ranging in ages from 10 to 14. They had chatted online previously with the ‘children,’ really Clay County Sheriff’s Office and HSI-KC investigators, or with adults who were purportedly offering the children for sex — also undercover sheriff’s office and HSI-KC investigators,” wrote sheriff’s office Public Relations Manager Sarah Boyd in a release to media about the operation. Deputies arrested the men after their arrival at the designated apartment or hotel room.

Link I. Laithreach, 33, of Portland, Oregon, is charged with attempted statutory sodomy-deviate sexual intercourse involving a person less than 12 years of age as a result of the operation. He posted $20,000 bond.

It’s not clear if Matthews/Laithreach returned to Oregon after posting bond or if he knew the other men who were arrested, but those other defendants traveled to Kansas City from other parts of the country, too. Unlike Matthews, they weren’t able to make bond after their arrests.

Matthews must stay at least 100 feet away from all minors and not have any contact with minors while awaiting trial, and his next court date is July 13th in Missouri, where he’s been ordered to appear in person. Here’s a look at the docket:

Mitch Matthews made his gay porn debut at ChaosMen over three years ago, and he went on to perform in multiple scenes at nearly a dozen gay porn studios up until late 2022. All of his social media and fan content pages were pulled offline at some point this year, presumably after the arrest.
