[UPDATED] Gay Porn Stars Join And Speak Out In Support Of George Floyd Protests Nationwide
This story is being continuously updated below.
The murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis police officers last week has sparked protests and riots in nearly every major city nationwide, as Americans demand justice not just for Floyd, but for all the men and women of color who’ve been killed by police and the United States government for centuries.
Many of those Americans calling for justice and in fact a complete overhaul (if not a total abolishment) of the corrupt and racist police state are gay porn performers and industry members, and Str8UpGayPorn stands in solidarity with them, the protesters around the country, and the Black Lives Matter movement. Here are some of the tweets shared by stars over the weekend, beginning with Colton Grey, who provided a list of charities and bail funds that will help those in need right now:
A list of charities i strongly urge you to look into and donate. I’ve Seen my TL is flooded with disgusting videos of police brutality and can only stress how these protestors deserve our support for standing their ground and speak the truth. pic.twitter.com/0GwoH6K9LJ

CockyBoys owner Jake Jaxson donated to the Brooklyn bail fund:
Later, Jaxson condemned the “few bad apples” defense of racist police officers:
Austin Wilde shared this video featuring an activist’s powerful, spot-on summation of events and history, then followed it up with his own message:
I just watched this video 3 times in a row. Listen to these powerful words. #BlackLivesMatter

Here’s a round-up of additional messages of support from porn stars (many of whom joined protests in their cities), including Ty Mitchell, Max Adonis, Angel Rivera (quoting Martin Luther King Jr.), Beaux Banks, Blake Mitchell, Sean Zevran, Boomer Banks, Sean Ford, Greyson Lane, Ricky Donovan, Mickey Knox, Brock Banks, Leo Grand, Josh Moore, and Kane Fox:
Performer Sharok was injured at a protest on Friday, but he’s thankfully doing OK now and continued protesting yesterday:

Daniel Greene spent the weekend protesting in Sacramento, California, and he posted this emotional video after returning home last night:
These past two days have changed my reality for the better. Thank you to all the brave souls at the frontlines with my today. They can gas us. They can shoot us. They can beat us,but they will not take our voices away! You will have no peace till we have justice! pic.twitter.com/tQ3iVwRybE

Dante and Romeo were protesting this weekend in Austin, Texas:
Cade Maddox was also protesting yesterday in Los Angeles, California:
There are all kinds of ways to show support and stand with the protesters, and several gay porn stars are doing just that by making donations to charities via proceeds to their OnlyFans pages, including performers Joey Mills and Adam Awbride:
All proceeds for the next 48 hours that I receive from my onlyfans will be donated to bailing out protestors in Minneapolis starting at 12:30 today https://t.co/uqQog24F7V #BlackLivesMatter #JusticeForGeorgeFlyod #JusticeforBreonnaTaylor pic.twitter.com/4jXkhvdnAo

Rhyheim Shabazz shared the iconic “by any means necessary” speech from Malcolm X, which obviously continues to be as relevant today as it was 55 years ago:

ADDED:
Joey Mills was sprayed with tear gas outside the Ferguson, Missouri police station, but he continued to protest there, and can be seen leading a chant here:

Austin Wilde was sprayed with tear gas, too, and he was hit with rubber bullets at a protest he attended in San Diego, California:
Today I was shot with a rubber bullet.
Today we protested peacefully.
Today people expressed their anger.
Today the police shot at peaceful protestors.

Finally, this commentary below from Cornel West on Friday resonated with me over the weekend. “The system can not reform itself,” West said, and he’s of course right. I don’t enjoy seeing looting or violence—no decent person does—but after over 400 years of slavery, oppression, murder, and systemic racism against black and brown people in every single institution in this country, what else left is there to do? Take a knee at a football game? A peaceful protest? Vote for a Democrat (like they’ve already done on the mayoral and gubernatorial levels in Minneapolis, Minnesota)? Clearly, none of that has worked. Nothing has worked. Time’s up. The police and the politicians who protect them are America’s terrorists, and until they’re stopped, the violence will never end.
“It is a lynching at the highest level. No one can deny that,” Dr. @CornelWest tells @andersoncooper of the death of George Floyd. “I thank God that we have people in the streets.”
“Could you imagine this kind of lynching taking place and people were indifferent?” he asks. pic.twitter.com/r8iSUjJ3db
