Here’s George Santos Refusing To Comment On Why He’s Concealing The Identities Of The People Who Paid His Bail
As reported earlier today, a judge just granted media outlets’ requests to unseal the names of the people who paid George Santos’ bail. Via The Hill:
A federal judge Tuesday granted media organizations’ requests to unseal the names of the people who cosigned Rep. George Santos’s (R-N.Y.) $500,000 bond in his criminal fraud case.
The order is a blow to Santos, whose attorney Monday asked a judge to keep the names of the bond cosigners sealed. The congressman’s lawyer, Joseph Murray, expressed concern for the sponsors should their identities be revealed, citing a “media frenzy” around the Santos case.
Santos was arrested last month and faces over 40 years in prison for money laundering and fraud. There are reportedly at least two people who paid his $500,000 bond, and here was Santos today refusing to answer questions about why he’s trying to hide who they are:
George Santos, the indicted New York Republican, refused to answer questions about why he’s been shielding the identities of the people who paid for his $500,000 bond.
Asked him why it’s so important to shield their identities, Santos told me: “Because it is.” pic.twitter.com/PkaJBsAc8q

The judge gave Santos until Friday to appeal the ruling. Assuming that appeal flops, Santos’ enablers could be revealed as early as Friday night.
