Hungary Passes Constitutional Amendment Banning Gays

Hungary’s parliament on Monday passed an amendment to the constitution that allows the government to ban public events by LGBTQ+ communities, a decision that legal scholars and critics call another step toward authoritarianism by the populist government.

More details at the link. This of course clears the way for Hungary to ban all peaceful assembly and protests involving anyone or anything that the government doesn’t like. It’s a wet dream for Trump and MAGA, and they’ll no doubt work to enact similar legislation here in the U.S., perhaps during Trump’s third or fourth term, once all the courts and democracy have finally been abolished. Red states are banning books, trans people, porn, drag queens, gay marriage, and more, so what Hungary has done is actually already happening here now.
