Kim Cattrall Making Brief Cameo In Second Season Of Awful Sex And The City Reboot
Sex And The City was a pretty good television show. It ended nearly 20 years ago, and I haven’t thought about it since. But, some old fags can never get enough of the same bedazzled mediocrity over and over again, and HBO brought back an awful SATC reboot a couple years ago. The best character in the show, Kim Cattrall’s Samantha Jones, was of course not in the reboot, so there was no reason to watch, and the first season bombed. Now, Variety has learned that HBO was able to convince Cattrall to make a brief cameo in the second season, but because her and series star Sarah Jessica Parker despise each other in real life, Cattrall’s cameo was filmed remotely and she had no interaction whatsoever with anyone in the cast. So, it’s just more worthless nonsense from another worthless reboot. But, people bored enough to actually be watching this mess might be interested, so here’s the Variety scoop:
For one night only, the “Sex and the City” universe will be whole again. Variety has learned that Kim Cattrall will reprise her iconic role as Samantha Jones in the Season 2 finale of “And Just Like That,” Max’s revival of HBO’s “Sex and the City.”
But she will only appear in one scene. According to sources, Cattrall shot her dialogue on March 22 in New York City, without seeing or speaking with the stars of the series, including Sarah Jessica Parker, or with “And Just Like That” showrunner Michael Patrick King.
In the scene, Samantha, who in the show has moved to London, will have a phone conversation with Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw.
