[UPDATED] Swalwell Campaign For CA Governor Imploding After Sexual Assault Allegations

Well, the best (which is also the worst) case scenario now is that Californians are going to end up with that elderly hedge fund billionaire “Tom Steyer”—who invested nearly $100 million in prisons and ICE detention facilities—as our next governor, solely because the old creep bought himself the win. On the bright side, things can’t get any worse here, or anywhere, so I suppose it doesn’t matter. Via Politico:

Multiple people have abruptly resigned from Rep. Eric Swalwell’s gubernatorial campaign, throwing the durability of his operation into question after the California Democrat repeatedly this week denied allegations of sexual misconduct. The resignations came just before the San Francisco Chronicle published a report Friday afternoon reporting that a former staffer claims Swalwell had sexual encounters with her while working for him, and that he sexually assaulted her twice when she was too drunk to consent. A spokesperson couldn’t immediately be reached for comment Friday about the campaign staff departures, but Swalwell released a statement broadly denying the allegations.

Details on the alleged assault—including accusations that Swalwell sent the 21-year-old staffer dick pics, demanded a blowjob after pulling out his cock in front of her, and had nonconsensual sex with her while she was “blacked out” drunk—are here.

UPDATE:

This is getting even worse, as three more women have come forward with more sexual harassment allegations against Swalwell. Via CNN:

One woman who connected online with Swalwell over her interest in Democratic politics says she ended up extremely drunk inside his hotel room after a night out with the congressman, with little memory of what occurred. Earlier in the night at a bar, he kissed her and touched her leg without her consent, she said.

Another woman, who described receiving unsolicited nude messages from Swalwell, was social media creator Ally Sammarco. She said she initially reached out to the congressman on Twitter to discuss politics. “I truly never thought he would respond – I had like 1,000 followers at the time,” she said. “And he actually responded.”

I’m inclined to believe the women, but I wish they would’ve come forward earlier, since this sexual predator has been in congress since 2013. Swalwell’s crimes go back to at least 2019, and they’re all speaking out now, a few weeks ahead of the gubernatorial primary? Better late than never, I guess.

ADDED: Video interview with one of Swalwell’s rape victims here.

AND: Swalwell is denying the sexual assault allegations in a video just released (watch below), calling them “flat false,” and saying “they did not happen.” He goes on to admit to making “mistakes” in his past, and he says those mistakes are between him and his wife. So…it sounds like he’s admitting to cheating on his wife, but not raping anyone?

I’ve gotten a weird vibe from Swalwell ever since he started showing up on cable news during Blackmailed Pedo’s first administration, so I’m not sorry to see him go (he’ll be “suspending” his campaign sometime next week, obviously). That being said, the timing of his victims coming forward now is ridiculously suspect, and you can’t help but wonder if there’s something more going on here.

Swalwell’s lawyer was on TV tonight, and he seems even creepier and more full of shit than Swalwell, so things are really going great for them! Clips from that interview:
