The world is on the brink of collapse (it’s actually already pretty much gone here in the U.S., tbh), but here’s at least a little bit of good news that makes living through 2025 worth it. After teasing her work with producer Stuart Price over the last few months, Madonna has confirmed today that a follow-up to her critically acclaimed and multi-platinum album Confessions is indeed coming, and it could be titled Confessions Part 2 based on what she posted to Instagram (see above).
“My Valentine’s Day gift to all my fans is to let you know I’m putting my heart and soul into my new music and I can’t wait to share it with you!! 🩷🩵🩶🤍🩷🩵🩶. Confessions Part 2,” Madonna wrote. Her message was accompanied by a series of studio and production photos set to the Confessions track “Future Lovers.”
Confessions is among the top three Madonna albums of all time for me (with American Life and Bedtime Stories) and is beloved by younger fans who grew up with the smash “Hung Up” in 2005, so this might be the best possible album on which to do a follow-up. The video for the album’s best track, “Sorry”:
