Madonna Performs Live For 17 Seconds At Soccer Game Halftime Show
I wasn’t expecting much, but this was somehow even worse. Madonna did a mostly prerecorded performance of her last #1 song from 26 years ago, “Music,” in an underground bunker at the World Cup game in New Jersey today. For the live portion of the song, she walked out of a loading dock and just a couple of feet into the stadium to sing for 17 seconds. There was obviously no way she was going to try and walk onto the field. Oh well.

Given all the edits (she obviously wasn’t getting in and out of that vehicle in less than five seconds), you can tell that all of this was pretaped, until the very end. Here was the only live part of the performance, in a little bit better video quality:
