Patrick Dempsey Named People Magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive!”

Huh? Well, OK. It’s not that he’s not sexy. In fact, he’s hotter now than he probably ever was. It’s just, I thought they only did this when someone had something major to promote, and I haven’t seen him in anything since Scream 3 in 2000. He does have a supporting role in Michael Mann’s Ferrari biopic, and he’s in the upcoming slasher film Thanksgiving, so maybe that’s all it took.

And, if you’re too young or (god damn you) you weren’t even born when this came out, be sure to watch Dempsey’s first big lead role in the lovely 1987 teen rom-com Can’t Buy Me Love. Although, don’t watch the clip below if you haven’t seen it, since it totally gives away the very sweet ending:

Dempsey was on Jimmy Kimmel a few hours ago to do more promo for the magazine cover, and he talks about Ferrari near the end of the interview below. It’s interesting to see how they can’t even mention the title of the other movie he’s in, Thanksgiving, because that film doesn’t have the same SAG-AFTRA clearance/interim agreement that Ferrari was obviously granted.
