Performer Riley Finch Hospitalized With Gastrointestinal Condition, Launches GoFundMe To Help Pay For Medical Costs

Performer Riley Finch has shared that he was hospitalized with a painful and serious gastrointestinal issue earlier this week, and while the popular Return To Helix Academy star (as seen above) is home now and awaiting further testing and treatment, he’s reaching out to fans for help.

20-year-old Finch launched a GoFundMe today to help pay his medical bills, which include his recent hospital stay, visits with GI doctors, prescription drugs, and an upcoming colonoscopy. As Finch shared with followers this week, he’s been suffering with severe abdominal pain, vomiting, internal bleeding, and considerable weight loss, going from 115 to 94 pounds:

As of now, doctors haven’t been able to properly diagnose Finch without more testing, and due to the surge in COVID-19 hospitalizations across the country (including in Tennessee, where Finch lives), there’s been one delay after another in terms of Finch receiving care. As of today, the colonoscopy is scheduled for December 23rd, and Finch is being looked after by family.

Finch tells Str8Up that it’s suspected he could be suffering from Crohn’s disease, but they won’t know until more testing is done. Due to the condition he’s in, Finch is unable to film or work at Helix Studios for the foreseeable future, and he thanks all who are able to donate or share the GoFundMe page. While he does have health insurance, the co-pays for all his treatment and testing (not to mention the high deductible) have already exceeded what Finch can afford. All donations will go towards medical bills already incurred, as well as the ones that come in over the next several months.
