A gay porn studio that doesn’t release gay content? That’s what’s happening at GayHoopla.

GayHoopla issued a press release today under the guise of a 10-year anniversary “celebration,” but buried deep into the release, eight paragraphs down, the Arizona-based studio announced that they would no longer be producing sex scenes. Instead, the rep (a woman named “Jill F.”) says they’ll be “refocusing on amateur solos.” How exactly does one “refocus” on solos, which they’ve already been releasing every single Monday for the better part of their 10-year history? Here’s the relevant part of the release:

This year, GayHoopla is dedicated to improving the user experience and will be shifting from hardcore sex scenes to refocus on amateur solos, interactive interviews, model access, and gamifying the site. GayHoopla’s parent company, Blurred Media, is currently focused on growing into an immersive and experiential porn company that people haven’t seen from the brand before.

Gamify? They’re going to become a video game site? Also, “experiential”? Did they mean experimental? If so, how much more experimental can you get with masturbating? Maybe they’ll have guys experiment by not taking any of the studio’s “Too Hard” boner pills. Can they still get hard? Stay tuned. Also, “interactive interviews”? Like, when they have the models look at their phones and answer questions about their dick size from people on Twitter? Riveting

Here’s the full press release, in which GayHoopla says they’ve “overcome adversity” after being sued by their former employer (a.k.a. John Marsh, the owner of the now defunct Fratmen.tv), all while facing “negativity and roadblocks”:

GayHoopla is celebrating their milestone 10 year anniversary this month. What started as an ambitious journey for two young models, grew to be a top-contending independent studio releasing innovative content and giving fans something to talk about weekly.

In 10 years of business, GayHoopla has filmed over 400 amateur models, released 1,000+ hours of content, entertained 750K+ members and amassed over 2 Billion views on social and tube sites.

“It is with immense pride and gratitude that we announce our 10th Anniversary, a momentous occasion that marks a decade of overcoming adversity and pioneering change in the gay industry.” said Co-founder of GayHoopla, La El. “We cannot thank our supporters and members enough for being a part of this incredible journey with us.”

La El continued by saying, “When we first started, the odds were against us. We were sued unfairly by our ex-employer and faced a large lack of income. We never lost our drive though.” He and Co-Founder Dmitry Dickov were relentless in putting everything on the line to see GayHoopla succeed.

“We worked every damn day, not paying ourselves, and filming in the same house we lived in,” said Dmitry. The brand faced no shortage of negativity and roadblocks, but their passion for creating authentic content and working with eager amateur models fueled their ongoing resilience.

After 10 years, GayHoopla is still standing as one of the top producing independent studios in the Gay Porn Industry. Their loyal members, core team of experienced staff, and supportive community have been unwavering in their support and encouragement. “We’d be nothing without the past decade of support from our fans” said La El. “It means everything to us”.

As GayHoopla expands into its 10th year, members will see some exciting changes, including two new interactive features: TRYOUTS and LEADERBOARD. Both features are brand new to the adult gay industry and will allow members to engage with amateur models, while new applicants can showcase their photos and videos to be voted on by members. Finally, GayHoopla members will have a say in who they see on the site! More LIVE Cams will be added to the shoot house and even more access to GayHoopla models will be possible. In the coming months, expect more never-before-seen throwbacks and behind-the-scenes footage from the early days of GayHoopla, as archives full of footage will be posted for exclusive members to watch.

Live activity feeds, robust profiles, and a new reward system will offer members a customized experience that is full of thrilling, interactive and immersive features.

GayHoopla is starting a new decade with custom features and website experiences while looking back with deep, heartfelt, gratitude for where they began in 2013. Their team is constantly driven by the goal of evolving with their fans in order to provide exceptional services to their members.

BlurredMedia LLC is an adult film studio based in Scottsdale, Arizona, specializing in exclusive models and amateur content. Launched in 2013, the brand represents HotGuysFuck, GayHoopla, BiGuysFuck and SugarDaddyPorn. Combined, the sites have produced over 5,000 pieces of video content exceeding hundreds of millions of views per year. The company has consistently launched careers for amateur performers looking to break into the adult film industry and retains thousands of monthly subscribers.

“Reward systems” and “robust profiles”? Uhh, OK.

And do gay customers care about “live cams” set up in an Arizona house full of straight men and women? If gays want to watch guys on cams, they’ll go to Chaturbate or Flirt4Free.

Str8UpGayPorn has asked GayHoopla if they’ll be eliminating all sex scenes on all their sites, or will models still be filming straight and bisexual scenes, but they’ve yet to reply. Presumably, it’s more cost effective to just have the straight guys they hire fuck women on HotGuysFuck, rather than paying them extra to also have sex with men on GayHoopla, which they aren’t even into anyway. There haven’t been any new gay sex scenes published on GayHoopla for over two weeks, so while the press release claims they’ll be “shifting” away from gay sex, it appears that shift has already happened.

UPDATE:

GayHoopla never responded to Str8Up’s inquiry about the future of HotGuysFuck and BiGuysFuck, but they did reply to another user on Twitter, informing them that yes, production of straight and bi content would continue. Str8Up then replied to GayHoopla about this news, as you can see here:

GayHoopla has released some good solos over the years (remember Aiden Miller, as seen below?), but whether or not a gay porn studio can survive in 2023 without any gay sex is yet to be determined. That being said, the prognosis isn’t great. After all, look what happened to Fratmen.tv, which only featured solo videos.
