Right-Wing MAGAts Lose Their Minds Over White House Christmas Video Featuring…Tap Dancers

I saw a headline on a right-wing tabloid website this morning claiming that the White House’s Christmas video, as tweeted out by First Lady Jill Biden, had been met with criticism for being “bizarre, freaky, and absolute garbage,” so I of course looked forward to watching it, hoping for something totally insane. Turns out, it’s of course not “bizarre” or “freaky” at all, and is instead a sweet and stylish little tap dance video with some fun costumes:

Any sane person would watch the video and think, “that’s cute, great dancing,” and then move on. But if you’re a right-wing bigot on hellsite Twitter, you’re part of a hive-mind so full of worms, your perception of every single thing is tainted by innate hatred for anything that isn’t white and gender conforming. A few of the replies to Jill Biden’s video (all basically copying each other in an attempt to get likes and retweets) from the deranged MAGA mob:

I tried for a minute to figure out what exactly could be so offensive (note how none of the freaks single out any one moment or dancer specifically), given that it basically looks like a Target commercial or something you’d see on the Disney channel. Yes, the aesthetics in the video aren’t from the 1950’s (this is the era MAGA enthusiasts want us to return to “again”), but these visuals and costumes have obviously been on display in mainstream popular culture for the last 40 years, so the phony “shock” over seeing a woman in a suit and a man with a flower on his head reveals how meaningless and performative the MAGA agenda is. Feigned outrage over a female Nutcracker is not unlike the recently approved House impeachment inquiry against Joe Biden. Empty, fake, and all for show to rile up the brain dead MAGA base.
