Ryan Reynolds Went To Madonna’s House To Ask Her If They Could Use “Like A Prayer” In Deadpool & Wolverine
I love this story so much. Ryan Reynolds on Kelly Ripa’s talk show today explaining how he was able to license “Like A Prayer” for his new movie:
I wonder how many millions Madonna was paid for letting them use the song? Producers of the movie Varsity Blues paid $500K for an AC/DC song back in 1999, which was considered the most expensive licensing deal at the time. Given this is Madonna and Like A Prayer was a #1 song that’s arguably her most recognizable hit, she probably pocketed at least $2,000,000, especially because I think they use so much of the song, and not just a snippet.
