MindGeek/Men/Sean Cody Can’t Get Their Stories Straight, Now Claim They’ll Be Releasing 3 Scenes Per Week
I don’t know how many of you bother to look at other gay porn blogs, but there’s a “new” story circulating today about Sean Cody’s releasing schedule, which is a modification to the Sean Cody releasing schedule I first reported here last week. Now we’re supposed to believe that Sean Cody will be releasing three updates per week, on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday (at midnight).
Of course, last week the word from MindGeek/Men/Sean Cody was that they’d be updating twice per week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and we all saw that play out exactly as I reported when, as promised, Sean Cody released new scenes last Tuesday and Thursday. And this week, they stayed on that same schedule when they released a new scene today (Tuesday). When I spoke with a MindGeek/Men/Sean Cody rep last week, it was clearly explained to me that the plan, “as of now,” was to release “one [new update] every Tuesday and Thursday…at midnight.” But, now that plan has changed.
Today, in what is obviously a response to the “twice a week” backlash from fans, MindGeek/Men/Sean Cody has announced that they’re bumping it up to three updates per week. (Allegedly, the next scene will be out this coming Thursday.)
One thing I’ve come to learn over the last three months is that there are multiple people within MindGeek/Men/Sean Cody disseminating information about the studio, and all of these people are clearly NOT on the same page. And while this is somewhat understandable, (Sean Cody’s core staff is in San Diego while their corporate owner MindGeek is in Montreal), it’s not fair to customers who deserve to know what they’re paying for. Hopefully MindGeek/Men/Sean Cody’s latest miscommunication will motivate them to get their act together, but don’t hold your breath (these guys still haven’t even publicly acknowledged MindGeek’s acquisition of Sean Cody!).
What will MindGeek/Men/Sean Cody change next week?! Maybe they’ll go back to releasing scenes every other day? The return of Calvin? The return of condoms? (Haha, yeah right). Stay tuned…
