Street Barriers Put Up To Block Johns From Hiring Sex Workers In California
I thought people hired sex workers on the internet, but apparently there are still some guys driving around in cars and doing it old school in the San Francisco Bay Area. What’s really funny is that prostitution is illegal in California, but the city of Oakland doesn’t have the money or the resources to arrest any of the hookers or johns (not that they should be arrested—prostitution should in fact be made legal), or do any sort of community outreach to assist the sex workers, so they just put up a bunch of useless orange plastic boxes in the middle of the streets instead, making the rundown residential neighborhood look even more ugly and uninhabitable. It’s a perfect example of how worthless California lawmakers routinely fail to solve the state’s myriad problems. Via CBS2:
