Surprise! Psycho Bigot Karla Sofía Gascón WILL Attend This Weekend’s Oscars
Get ready! The Oscar’s very own trans Mel Gibson will be attending the ceremony on Sunday. It’ll be funny to see if anyone applauds when they announce her as a nominee during the presentation of Best Actress. Via Deadline:
Karla Sofía Gascón will be at the Oscars after all, with Netflix covering her expenses to attend the Dolby Theatre ceremony in Los Angeles on March 2nd, sources have confirmed to Deadline.
All Oscar nominees are afforded a ticket to the ceremony, so there was little reason to doubt that the Emilia Pérez star would show, to commemorate a historic nomination. The prospect had only been cast into some doubt when Gascón became embroiled in controversy in recent weeks, over resurfaced tweets from 2020 and 2021, which included offensive remarks about everything from Muslim to George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter movement.
Thankfully, Gascón doesn’t stand a chance in hell of winning, and the prize will rightfully go to Demi Moore. Although, I did finally watch the highly entertaining and engrossing Anora, which I loved, so Mikey Madison could upset. Anora should and will definitely win Best Picture though, as it’s such a one-of-a-kind and brilliantly made film.
