Theo Ford Exclusive: How Brent Corrigan Made Him Cry, Why He Prefers Condoms, And Would He Ever Fuck A Woman?
In the last year, rising gay porn star Theo Ford has used his ridiculously good looks and charming personality to become one of the most in-demand performers working today. And as an international escort, he shares his best assets with fans around the world. Now, Theo Ford’s sharing a little bit more—what does he really think of Jed Athens? Nica Noelle? Michael Lucas?—in this week’s “20 Questions With…”
1. What is your age, height, weight, hair color and eye color?
I’m 27, 6’2″, 194 pounds, with light brown hair and grey eyes.
2. Where were you born and raised, and where do you currently live? How many languages do you speak?
I am a Franco-Irish guy living between Paris and London. I was born in the south of France in Nice, and I lived all my life in Ireland in the south by the sea. My last name FORD is actually the last syllable from the name of the city I grew up in. It is so important to remember where you’re from to know where you’re going. THEO is from the word “apoTHEOsis,” which describes the ascendance of a human being into a God-like state. I truly believe we all thrive to better ourselves each and every day, and that’s what I wanted to keep in mind.
I am so happy to have been brought up in Ireland. This country has such a positive effect on people. “No stress” takes all its meaning over there. The magic of the country makes you believe that anything is possible. Look at me now; who would have thought a small Irish boy would be one day working with the best studios in the world.
I speak English and French obviously, and some Spanish as I love the language and travel very often to Spain for shoots. I go very often to Italy, so I would love to learn Italian.
3. When I first saw you in person at Hustlaball last month, I was blown away by how good looking you were. Do people ever get intimidated when they meet you?
Well thank you so much for the compliment! Most people think I’m cold and unapproachable, but really I am pretty shy. I guess because I’m tall I scare off people. If you get to know me I’m pretty sweet, and I love to laugh! I am the most positive person you can meet. Being a public figure and a porn star definitely doesn’t help to be more approachable, that’s for sure, but I hope people see me the way I really am.
4. Have you ever been intimidated meeting anyone in the gay porn industry?
I was very intimidated the first time I met Paddy O’Brian and Damien Crosse for my first shoot for Men.com in Madrid. They’re such huge stars, and I was this new kid. When I met Brent Corrigan in December on set of Falcon, I was stressed to work with someone who had been in the business for so long. I didn’t want to disappoint him or the studio. I guess I did a good job as Falcon still books me, and Brent has become a close friend since.
5. Speaking of Brent Corrigan, he recently wrote a very sweet blog post about you, and it led some to believe that he had romantic feelings for you. How would you characterize your relationship with him?
Brent and I have really become close friends. I love him so much, and I feel so humble that he opened up to me the way he did. I will always be there for him in every way possible. When I read that blog post, I was so touched I actually started to cry. I have very few friends and Brent is for sure one of them.
6. Could you ever see yourself dating Brent?
I do not want to think about dating anyone else other than the guy I am with now. But anyone would be lucky to be as close to Brent as I am. Our scene for Falcon will be released soon, so you guys can judge the chemistry. It was real, there’s no denying it!
7. You are currently dating Logan Moore. What qualities do you look for in a boyfriend?
Yes, I do have an amazing boyfriend in Logan. I need to be with someone confident and understanding. I’m very generous with the people I love and it’s so amazing to have that one person to give you all they have in return. Being an adult performer requires having a lot of trust in the other person. I’m working hard to make sure I can give and get that trust.
8. Going back a couple years, tell me what it was like shooting your first gay porn scenes?
The first studio I worked with is the best studio in France, “French Twinks.” The producer, Antoine Lebel, is a crazy and sweet person. Never met a producer with such amazing dreams and determination. His right hand man, Jerome, is the voice of reason and I love him for giving me such great advice. They have the best take on porn and respect their models in the way a real family does. I am very close with them, but I was completely mortified during the first scene. Thankfully after working with them for a year, I grew into a real actor and I’m extremely thankful they were—and still are—so amazing.
9. What was it like working with Michael Lucas?
Michael himself has been very sweet to me. He’s given me lots of advice. Yes, he has a unique personality, but at least he owns it. You cannot be liked by everyone, that’s for sure.
9a. A “unique” personality?
We did have words in the past, as we both have strong personalities. But I respect him as a person.
10. What was the actual Lucas Entertainment shooting experience like?
I did not enjoy the shoots. In particular, due to the ex-production manager who had the worst attitude and people skills I’ve EVER met on set! How could you scream at your models on and off set and expect them to perform at their best? The director and producer is in charge of giving the positive energy on set to achieve a great performance. This includes motivation, direction and NOT shooting for hours until the cast and crew are upset and drained, physically and emotionally. I now make sure I do not work with certain people or studios because of what happened there.
11. I’ve heard similar horror stories about director Nica Noelle, who I know you just shot with. What was she like?
Nica has been very sweet to me. I cannot elaborate on other people’s experiences; I can only speak about myself. My first scene for Nica was with Colton Grey and I loved it! Colton being such a sweetheart may have something to do with it, too. Nica has a great team around her, starting with the director of photography JM Darling, who shoots some of the best photography I’ve seen for a pornographic production.
12. Of all your scene partners so far, which one would you like to do another scene with?
I would for sure shoot more scenes with Logan Moore. He is such an amazing performer, and incredibly sexy too. He is one of the most important people in my life. When you get to work with your friends and actually have an amazing shoot, it all makes it worthwhile. People like Andrea Suarez, Kayden Gray, Colton Grey, and Dani Robles have all been such amazing co-stars—I would be happy and honored to work with them again!
13. Last month, I noticed you were spending time with troubled performer Jed Athens, but then I saw him saying some rude things to you on Twitter. What happened?
I spent a few days with a person who I thought was a friend. Jed turned out to be the most negative person I have ever met, and became this crazy and jealous being. I am such a happy and positive person, and he simply got jealous of my success and positive personality. He made up some horrible lies about me, and it’s been deeply insulting.
14. Why is Jed Athens so crazy?
He has been behaving this way with countless other people. I guess he might want to get help. I wish him the best in his future, if he can actually manage to find a job one day or even a boyfriend who will put up with his insane attitude. I hate drama, but this so-called “porn star” is a cancer to this industry and should be removed ASAP.
15. You are in the running for Rentboy’s Mr. France in the Hookie Awards. What does it take to be the best Rentboy, and why should people vote for you?
Being the best Rentboy is just like being a great porn star. You need to make people dream, and you need to arouse them! I hope people vote for me because they enjoy seeing me on screen, and I hope that they might fantasize about me.
16. What was your most enjoyable experience as an escort, and what was your least enjoyable experience?
The best was to actually meet sweet and interesting people. The least enjoyable has been to realize that so many people are lonely. Really makes me happy to give them some happiness and companionship.
17. Would you ever escort for a female client if she hired you via Rentboy?
I would be polite and say I am simply not the person for the job.
18. Having worked in both bareback and condom gay porn, which do you prefer when you’re shooting?
I prefer safe (condom) porn. I totally understand the fantasy of bareback, but when your health is in the studio’s hands, I feel better being safe. Many studios don’t even care if you get tested or not. I also want to make sure that the wrong example isn’t shown through my movies. People should get tested and take precautions relating to whatever practices they enjoy. I hate the stigma around it all. I feel we should put more importance in educating people instead of shaming them.
19. Lightning Round! Please answer in one or two words and give me your FIRST reaction to the following topics.
Who’s the hottest gay porn star: Dario Beck
Who’s the most famous gay porn star: Brent Corrigan
Chi Chi LaRue: Creative-shaped-head
mr. Pam: That hair!!
Jed Athens: Craaaaaaazy.
Eli Lewis: Gaysian prince.
Leo Sweetwood: Sweetheart DIVA.
Austin Wilde: Hot abs.
Brent Corrigan: Sincerity. Love. Friendship.
20. What is the last thing you do before you go to sleep at night?
I hate going to bed! But, I always make sure my skin is clean. When you spend your life in front of the cameras, you need to have great looking skin. I would probably watch some Will & Grace for theMen billionth time. I also make sure I catch up with my manager Chris Crisco and make sure I’m on top of all the opportunities that come my way. He really is a great agent and even better person!
21. Finally, what should fans expect to see from you in 2015?
I’m moving full time to London to work on more mainstream projects, as well as more porn. I’ll continue to produce, direct, and edit more short movies like my first one, Through The Lense. I will be working on a book and some TV projects, and some amazing scenes are coming out too! I hope people will enjoy them and my progress in this industry.
Sounds like a very busy year. Thank you, Theo!
