Thoughts And Prayers: Joe Manchin Tests Positive For COVID
Let’s all hope for the very best outcome for Joe Manchin (and we all know what that outcome would be). Via NBC:
Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., said Monday that he has tested positive for Covid, which could complicate the Senate’s push to finish a number of priorities in the two weeks leading up to the August recess.
Manchin, 74, who is fully vaccinated and boosted, tweeted Monday morning that he was “experiencing mild symptoms” from the virus.
“I will isolate and follow CDC guidelines as I continue to work remotely to serve West Virginians,” he said. His office declined to comment further.

Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) is infected, too, but she’s continuing to “work remotely” while experiencing “flu like symptoms.”
First of all, these motherfuckers don’t do any “work” when they’re actually in Washington D.C., so it’s funny that they’re still pretending to be of any use to anyone, even when they’re not in the capital. Second, even the worthless CDC has said that people sick with COVID should not be working, and that they should be letting their bodies relax so they can fight off the virus. Manchin, Murkowski, Biden, and all the others who continue to say they’re “working” while ill with a deadly virus is a horrifically dangerous example to set, in part because it perpetuates the false narrative that the virus isn’t a big deal, and also because it puts people’s lives in danger should they decide to continue working. Maybe people who are knowingly infected can just start showing up at their retail or office jobs to do their work (after all, most people don’t have the luxury of “working remotely” from their taxpayer-funded mansions while receiving top tier, taxpayer-funded healthcare), thus endangering themselves and infecting everyone around them.
