Trailer For Kristen Wiig, Allison Janney, Ricky Martin, Laura Dern In Palm Royale
I don’t know. Kristen Wiig is great, but the southern(?) accent makes me think she’s just playing one of her Saturday Night Live characters, so I’m distracted and taken out of the whole thing. Maybe it’ll be better in the full series, as opposed to the trailer where we’re just hearing bits and pieces. Also, this is coming to Apple TV, which hasn’t released a single good series that I know of, so the odds aren’t great. Here’s the Palm Royale trailer:
The cast is solid, so I’ll give it a chance.
But, I just realized that Wiig is kind of reminding me of her Cheryl Bryant character from “Dream Home Extreme.” It’ll be tough to watch the new series without thinking she’s just rebooting this character:
