Trailer For Ronald Reagan Biopic, Starring Dennis Quaid, Which Could Be The Worst Movie Of 2024
The only thing that might possibly be worse than the Ronald Reagan presidency? It could be this biopic, Reagan, starring dipshit Dennis Quaid as the brain-dead former president who helped obliterate the middle class to make way for complete corporate billionaire control of American life while also failing to address the AIDS epidemic until nearly 100,000 people had died. In a way, it’s fitting. As the worst U.S. president of the 20th century (and easily among the top 10 worst of all time), it makes sense that Reagan would be the subject of the worst movie of 2024. The trailer, which feels like it was put together by a junior high school computer class:
You know, it really sucks when you realize that the entire world would be so much better off if that idiot John Hinkley Jr. had just had better aim. Then again, the real owners of this country would’ve just found another puppet to take Reagan’s place. They already had all the Bushes lined up.
In case you’re wondering, Reagan was directed by Sean McNamara, whose filmography as a director includes Casper: A Spirited Beginning (1997), Casper Meets Wendy (1998), 3 Ninjas: High Noon at Mega Mountain (1998), Treehouse Hostage (1999), Bratz (2007), Cats & Dogs 3: Paws Unite! (2020), and Sister Swap (2021). All of those films (a term used loosely) were either released direct-to-video or on basic cable networks like Fox Family or Hallmark Channel. Well, except for Bratz, which was somehow released in theaters before bombing and being nominated (yet losing) multiple Razzie awards.
The cast list for Reagan reads like a who’s who of Hollywood Z-listers and/or Jan. 6 defendants, with Jon Voight (of course), Kevin Sorbo (lol), Creed frontman Scott Stapp as Frank Sinatra(??), Mena Suvari as Jane Wyman, and Lesley-Anne Down (a former soap diva from the canceled NBC flop Sunset Beach) as Margaret Thatcher. Oh, and blowjob queen Nancy Reagan is played by an apparently desperate-for-work Penelope Ann Miller, who was last seen in a Lifetime movie based on the college admissions scandal, portraying a fictionalized version of Felicity Huffman. How Reagan did not also end up on Lifetime (or, better yet, Tubi or Pluto TV) is beyond me.
