Now that former bareback gay porn star Mike Dozer (legal name Christopher Steele) has been convicted on three felony charges stemming from his sexual conduct with a 14-year-old boy and his receipt of child pornography, the gay porn studios for whom he worked have a decision to make: Should Mike Dozer’s gay porn scenes remain online, or should they be pulled down?

On the one hand, it might be a moot point. With the proliferation of tube and file sharing sites, Tumblr, and all the creepy corners of the internet where Mike Dozer’s “fans” still live, his videos will always be online, even if every single studio pulled down every single one of his scenes. On the other hand, it would be a positive gesture and a symbolic move for studios to remove his scenes, in essence saying, “We have no interest in earning any profit whatsoever off a convicted pedophile.”

It might not be exactly comparable, but consider the recent situation with actor Stephen Collins and his television show 7th Heaven. After tape recordings surfaced of Collins admitting to child molestation, every episode of 7th Heaven was pulled from syndication, and his upcoming appearance on ABC’s Scandal has been cut. And Collins hasn’t even been convicted, whereas Dozer/Steele will be in prison for at least 25 years.

Yes, other gay porn stars convicted of heinous crimes have scenes up all over the internet (e.g., Sean Cody’s Addison, Ryan Idol, Tag Adams, etc.), but Dozer’s crimes against a child are particularly horrific. Why would any gay porn studio want to be associated with him? Also, it must be really, really uncomfortable to be a gay porn star who worked with Mike Dozer, and I’m sure his co-stars wouldn’t mind if all his scenes quietly disappeared.

With Mike Dozer/Christopher Steele’s federal sentencing still pending and his state trial on even more charges (including sexual assault on a 14-year-old boy) beginning today, gay porn studios for whom he worked (including MenOver30, Falcon/Raging Stallion, Cocksure Men, and Raw Fuck Club) have a decision to make.
