AEBN/Raging/Falcon To Acquire Hot House Entertainment

HH FS RS LogoStraight porn conglomerate AEBN is about to add another gay jewel to its crown: Hot House. I’ve just received details on AEBN’s acquisition of San Francisco-based Hot House Entertainment and, to be honest, I’m surprised it didn’t happen a lot sooner. With this latest purchase, AEBN expands its control of several gay porn studios, including Raging Stallion/Falcon and NakedSword.

I’m told Hot House will be folded into the Raging Stallion/Falcon brands, with HH director Christian Owen staying on board to direct all those movies with socks, shoulder pads, and no black guys. Sister Roma, who has been Hot House’s art director for the better part of a decade, will be joining the staff at NakedSword, which has been a second home to her for just as long. No word on how much money AEBN paid for Hot House, but it was apparently enough to send legendary director and studio owner Steven Scarborough into retirement.

It’s unclear how the acquisition will affect the Club Inferno Dungeon line (you know, those movies with all the white liquid and rosebuds), but since Raging Stallion already has a fetish line, the two will probably be merged. [Update: A Raging/Falcon rep tells me the Dungeon line will remain intact, unlike its performers’ assholes.] Developing…

Press release via Raging/Falcon:

Falcon/Raging Stallion to Acquire Hot House Entertainment;
Forms World’s Largest Gay Adult Production Company

Falcon/Raging Stallion Studios announced today that it will acquire the assets of Hot House Entertainment, creating the world’s largest gay erotic company. Hot House president Steven Scarborough also announced that he will retire from the industry after a 27-year career. Falcon/Raging Stallion president Chris Ward will head the combined operations.

“We are excited to bring Hot House into the AEBN family of companies,” commented Ward. “I started my own career at Hot House so it is very significant for me to bring Steven’s company to Falcon/Raging Stallion. We plan to preserve and protect Steven’s outstanding legacy and continue filming in the Hot House tradition and style. Just as I worked hard to protect the Falcon legacy after the Falcon/Raging Stallion merger, I intend to make sure that Hot House fans keep getting exactly what they want.”

Scarborough offered his own thoughts on the future of Hot House as part of the Falcon/Raging Stallion mega-studio. “Because I came from Falcon and because Chris came from Hot House, I feel this deal is a perfect fit. I reached out to Chris because of our long history together. I am absolutely confident that Chris and his team will continue the Hot House tradition, which is something very, very important to me. I look forward to seeing Hot House remain an industry leader for years to come.”

Opportunities to expand the Hot House brand include making the 300-title catalog available on Cable TV through AEBN’s Align Broadcast group which has quickly become a major player in the US domestic cable marketplace.

Hot House, founded in 1993 after Scarborough left Falcon, quickly became one of the industry’s top studios, known for filming high-quality mainstream erotic films and also launching the Club Inferno video line. Ward began his own adult career directing for the Club Inferno line before he went on to found Raging Stallion Studios with JD Slater in 1999. Raging Stallion and Falcon combined forces in 2012, all under the AEBN corporate umbrella. Adding Hot House into the mix now brings the three studios full circle.

Christian Owen, the current film director at Hot House, will continue with the new venture, assuring continuity of content. Director of Hot House Operations Rob LeVan will also remain in place as Director of Operations for the studio group.

In announcing his retirement, Scarborough ends a career that began at Falcon in 1987 where he served for many years as the studio’s head director and Chuck Holmes’ right-hand man. Scarborough was instrumental in developing niche films at Falcon, which he continued when he started Hot House. Hot House remains the premier “ass-play” studio with its website ClubInfernoDungeon.com. Hot House mainstream movies are presented on the studio’s flagship website, HotHouse.com. All Hot House, Falcon, and Raging Stallion membership sites are part of the Buddy Profits affiliate program. Films from all three studios are available for VOD at AEBN.com.
