California’s Prop. 7, which passed by 60% in 2018, ordered that we should be on the spring forward time (e.g., more sunlight) year round, but because our votes actually don’t matter, the state senate needs to also pass a two-thirds vote with approval by the federal government to “authorize” the proposition—which, uhh, California voters already authorized in 2018. These politicians are apparently too busy to uphold democracy and do the jobs they’re paid to do, and the vote died in committee in 2019.
This effectively means that Californians will have one less hour to watch big-dicked hunk Leeroy Jones topping Ryan Jordan at ActiveDuty this weekend, even though millions of us voted otherwise (and even though we’ve already seen Leeroy and Ryan fuck, since they were in a scene together back in 2019).
Prop. 7’s passage by voters is another great reminder of how useless the proposition system is (especially in California), and why “every vote counts!” is a complete sham. Your vote literally does not count, likely because our government is owned and operated by utility corporations that profit off more energy use when we set our clocks back an hour every November. This obscene corruption has nothing to do with Louis Ricaute powerbottoming for Abel Sanztin, and yet, I as a Californian and the FuckerMate models, as residents of Europe, do have something in common.
FuckerMate scenes are filmed in Europe, and like Californians, the European Parliament voted in 2019 to abolish daylight saving time, too. But, like in California, DST is still being observed across Europe despite the vote to remove it, and it’s not expected to go away anytime soon. Makes sense! At least it’s comforting to know that Europeans are subjected to the same tyranny as Americans.
Don’t forget to set your clocks forward an hour this Sunday morning. On the bright side, that’s one less hour to spend living with the realization that nothing really matters.
