Ed Buck Found Guilty Of Causing Meth Overdose Deaths Of Black Sex Workers
Democratic donor Ed Buck has been found guilty today on all nine charges he faced after injecting gay Black sex workers with methamphetamine in his West Hollywood apartment. As reported two years ago, one of those men was former gay porn star Timothy Dean (who performed in gay porn as “Hole Hunter” from 2007 to 2016), who was found dead in Buck’s drug den back in 2019.
After deliberating for five hours, the jury found Buck guilty of maintaining a drug house, battery causing serious injury, two counts of enticing men to travel with the intent of engaging in prostitution, three counts of administering methamphetamine, and two counts of distributing methamphetamine that resulted in death. Buck now faces life in prison for his deranged crimes that garnered national attention following the murders of Gemmel Moore (the first man to be killed by Buck back in 2017) and Dean.

As part of their case, prosecutors noted that Buck meticulously documented the encounters: Los Angeles County Sgt. Paul Cardella told jurors that investigators found 1,500 photographs and videos of related incidents on Buck’s phone and computer.
“Stare directly into the camera, flare your nostrils, and blow it out slowly,” Buck says in one video played in court to his alleged victim, according to the Los Angeles Times. “Now, if you add wide-open eyes to that, it would be a perfect shot.”
In another video played in court, Moore is seen telling Buck, “I don’t know if I can handle another slam,” referring to another injection of meth. In the clip, however, Buck appears to pressure Moore to take another hit.
The digital evidence was so harrowing that during the trial, District Judge Christina A. Snyder expressed concern for the mental health of the jurors deciding Buck’s fate. “It may well be that we offer counseling to them at the end of the case,” Snyder said last week.
Buck will be sentenced later this year, and the convictions for supplying the meth that resulted in Moore and Dean’s deaths each carry a minimum sentence of 20 years in prison. At 66 years old with a guaranteed 40 years in prison, Buck will undoubtedly die behind bars.
