Gay Porn Star Criminal Trial Update: Drake Von And Eddie Burke Court Hearings Set For August
Just a brief update on the ongoing criminal prosecutions against gay porn stars Dawson Bacon (porn name “Drake Von”) and Joshua Eddy (porn name “Eddie Burke”), both of whom were arrested earlier this year on a variety of domestic battery, robbery, DUI, and drug trafficking charges. Bacon’s case (details here, ICYMI) is proceeding in Las Vegas, and his next pre-trial hearing is set for August 24th, as the docket below shows:
Bacon’s been charged with felony domestic battery by strangulation, felony coercion of domestic violence using physical force, two counts of misdemeanor domestic battery, and felony robbery. He’s also facing a DUI charge on a separate arrest. Bacon faces a total of up to 27 years behind bars. Given the continuances and the attorney he’s hired, Bacon is undoubtedly working on a plea deal, so stay tuned.
In the case against gay porn star Joshua Eddy, you’ll recall that the former Sean Cody model was arrested in February (details here) after cops said they found ecstasy, ketamine, GHB, and meth in his luggage while he attempted to board a Royal Caribbean cruise in Florida. At the time, officers reported finding liquid that tested positive for 19.3 grams of MDMA, 3.4 grams of ketamine, 7.55 grams of meth, and 80 grams of GBL, and Eddy was charged with one count of trafficking and three counts of possession. But, in an amended filing last week, prosecutors dropped two of the four charges and modified the two remaining. Now, Eddy is facing two counts of possession of MDMA and the psychedelic stimulant drug 2C-B, a.k.a. “Bromo.” That latter drug (which I’ve never even heard of?) wasn’t included in the initial complaint. So, either authorities were lying about everything they claimed to have found, or Eddy has worked out a very good deal, because the most serious trafficking charge is gone, and he’s only facing possession now. The amended complaint:
Eddy’s next hearing is set for August 10th, and per the docket below, it’ll be to determine whether or not a deferred prosecution has been accepted (“DEF PROS PGM-ACC/REJ SET”). In other words, a plea deal in which the defendant commits to community service, probation, drug classes, etc.
In somewhat related news, gay porn studio FalconNakedSword has put out a press release today (which was bizarrely published by mainstream Hollywood trade magazine Variety) announcing a new line of erotic fiction books based on their gay porn movies, one of which will be available as an audiobook with narration by none other than formerly accused drug trafficker Joshua Eddy. Let’s hope he wasn’t under the influence of “Bromo” while he recorded his part, or, on second thought, maybe it’ll actually sound sexier if he was high as a kite? Another voice doing one of the FalconNakedSword audiobooks will be Derek Kage, who may or may not have been attracted to the microphone during his recording.
