Kyle Ross Announces Retirement During Tense Acceptance Speech Featuring Cameron Parks As Helix Wins GayVN’s Best Feature For Vegas Nights
Helix Studios continued their clean sweep of the 2020 awards season, taking home Best Feature for Vegas Nights at the GayVN Awards tonight, after taking home Best Picture for Vegas Nights last week at the Str8UpGayPorn Awards in Hollywood.
The Best Feature acceptance speech tonight came with a bit of drama thanks to performer Cameron Parks (who retired last year after being fired by Helix), who took the stage with the Helix team during their acceptance speech. And Parks wasn’t the only one making news during the acceptance speech, as performer Kyle Ross took the on-stage opportunity to announce that he’s retiring from performing as he moves more into a behind-the-scenes corporate position with Helix.
Here’s Kyle Ross (who comes in at :27) announcing his retirement, as well as Cameron Parks (who comes in at 1:38), who told the crowd, “People can say a lot of shit about Helix, I mean, I don’t blame them. But, they do make a very good movie.” After Parks begins speaking, you’ll see star Max Carter approach him and appear to push him away from the microphone. You’ll also hear someone in the audience (presumably from the Helix table) yell, “Get off the stage!” before Parks is played off by the GayVN music:
Other than that brief bit of tension, it was an otherwise smooth show, hosted by comedians Alec Mapa and Nicole Byer. Here’s the complete list of winners from GayVN:
