Mike Dozer Sentencing Delayed As Convicted Pedophile Fires Lawyer For Lying
Another brief update on former gay porn star turned convicted pedophile Mike Dozer (legal name Christopher Steele), as there’s been a delay in his federal sentencing, a request for a new attorney—he’s fired his old one, Kevin Mark Wray, pictured above—and a denied appeal for a new trial.
Also, Dozer/Steele’s state trial—where he faces separate charges, including statutory sexual assault—has been pushed out to May 27th (earlier, the outcome of that trial had been in question, but now it’s just been delayed, again).
First, here’s the order denying Steele’s motion for an appeal in federal court. It reveals even more disturbing details about Steele’s sexual assault on his 14-year-old victim, and what the boy testified to at trial. There’s also mention of Steele’s former boyfriend, who was also charged in this case but committed suicide before being brought to trial.
Steele’s federal sentencing was supposed to take place on April 14th, 2015, but as of post time that hearing has not happened. The delay is likely due to Steele’s motion for a new lawyer. In the handwritten letter below, Steele fires his attorney, Kevin Mark Wray, and accuses him of lying.
Court records now show that Steele has been appointed new counsel, so his sentencing hearing should be re-scheduled in the coming days. Given the three felonies he was convicted of, Steele is facing 30 years to life in prison.
