For the first time this year, gay-for-pay porn star Drake Von got some good news in a Las Vegas courtroom this morning, as the state of Nevada filed a motion to dismiss the felony battery and robbery charges he’s been facing since his arrest over the summer. As you’ll recall, Von (whose legal name is Dawson Bacon) was arrested on June 5th and charged with felony domestic battery by strangulation, felony coercion of domestic violence using physical force, felony robbery, and two misdemeanor domestic battery counts. The victim was later seen on leaked police body cam footage describing the alleged attack, and Von’s exclusive contract with Men.com was canceled while the studio scrubbed their entire site of all his videos. It’s obviously not disclosed why prosecutors decided to drop their case (perhaps the alleged victim was refusing to testify?), but the docket below shows that they filed a motion to dismiss this morning at the preliminary hearing:

Given that the felony robbery and one of the domestic battery charges were added to the case a month after the initial arrest, it appeared that the state believed they had a strong case, and they can always charge him again since this never went to trial (note that today’s dismissal was not an acquittal, and code NRS 174.085 explains why), but for now, he’s a free man. Maybe Men.com will re-hire Drake Von to fill in for Leo Levine so they can quickly reshoot their Black Friday bottoming scene?

The Las Vegas courtroom drama isn’t quite over for Drake Von. His DUI trial is still scheduled for November 10th.
