[UPDATED] Exclusive: Corbin Fisher Addresses That “No Fraternization” Policy, And Admits That Two Of Their Models Tried “Taking A Shot” At Dating
Former Corbin Fisher model Quinn made news earlier this year when he announced that he had been fired by the studio for spending time with CF model Kellan (along with Kenny) off set, as seen in the photograph above. As Quin Quire wrote back in February:
Corbin Fisher fired me. After 5 years with them they fired me over text for taking Kellen out for a beer back in October. Sited “Fraternization.” Their mistake, I am much happier now having my own control of my career anyway.
While Corbin Fisher did respond to Quin Quire’s statement shortly after he announced the firing, the studio didn’t go into specifics as to why their relationship ended (other than saying it was “simply time for both sides to move on”), and they didn’t address the alleged “no fraternization” policy at all. Today, they are finally addressing that policy.
In the below statement given to Str8UpGayPorn, a rep for Corbin Fisher says that while they don’t have a “no fraternization” policy, they do have rules against models having sexual relations together off set while they’re in town for shoots. These rules, Corbin Fisher says, are in place because of STI testing and production-related issues:
We don’t have any kind of blanket no-fraternization policy here. In fact, two of our current and most popular models had until recently been taking a shot at dating one another, even flying cross country to visit each other (since one lives on the east coast, the other west). I knew about it, we even tried scheduling them for shoots at the same time so they could spend more time together, and it wasn’t an issue at all (ultimately it didn’t work out, though).
The issue that has come up in the past isn’t about fraternization – it is about STI testing. If a performer dates another in their personal time, there’s really nothing we can do about that. While it certainly does create a potential for drama and issues (a falling out or breakup interfering with scene work or creating tension, for instance) we also acknowledge it’s inevitable guys working in this industry might often end up dating other guys working in this industry. There’s mutual attraction, and there are none of the issues that can come from dating someone who isn’t in porn (say, a boyfriend or girlfriend who isn’t comfortable with their doing porn, the irregular schedules, etc.).
What is an issue is when a performer tries to hook up with other performers off-camera, during shoot weekends. Models are all tested, but a day or two can pass between their giving lab samples and us getting results back. As you can imagine, a performer trying to hook up with other shoot attendees during that interim period can create all kinds of issues; a performer having sex with (untested, outside) persons during or immediately before a shoot can likewise create issues. Further, models hooking up during shoots can often leave them unable to perform later that day or the next day, and generally create a host of production-related issues. Consider we fly performers in from all over the country, and then only have a couple days to try and get one or two scenes out of them – if they hook up with someone the night before a scene it could leave their entire shoot weekend a bust. Some performers have been unable or unwilling to tolerate those production-related restrictions, unfortunately. But they are, first and foremost, production-related restrictions.
This sounds mostly reasonable, but it doesn’t explain or address Quin Quire’s claim that he was specifically fired by Corbin Fisher due to a “no fraternization” policy, when all he did was go out for a beer with Kellan and Kenny. This, obviously, was not an off set sexual encounter that would’ve interfered with production, yet Quin clearly stated that the “no fraternization” policy was what CF sited in their text message to him letting him know he was fired. According to Quin, Kenny “jokingly” told Corbin Fisher that Quin and Kellan had fucked, but that never happened and was flatly denied by Quin. And, just yesterday, Kellan himself appeared to confirm Quin’s story, writing that he did not think the firing was appropriate. Str8UpGayPorn has asked Corbin Fisher to clarify this, and this post will be updated if they respond.
And, obviously, I am literally deceased after speculating about the identities of the two “current and most popular models” who Corbin Fisher says had “taken a shot at dating.” Jesus Christ, it has to be them, right?
Corbin Fisher has responded to the question about Quin Quire’s firing and whether or not it had to do with his night out with Kellan and Kenny. In short, they claim it was due to a “pattern of behavior” from Quinn:
I’d say there was a misunderstanding, yes. But I’d also say he’s not 100% wrong. That particular incident did lead to us letting him go, but only because it was the last in a series of incidents and the latest in a pattern of behavior. It’d be silly to let someone go over simply hanging out with someone. However, by that point, we’d already had multiple issues with them and they’d made a habit of pursuing performers off camera and using shoots and shoot attendees as hook up opportunities. Multiple shoots had been disrupted over the years, scenes lost, performers chased off, etc. Only after it seemed they were either unwilling or unable to change that pattern of behavior were we left deciding it might be best to part ways.
Corbin Fisher’s use of the pronouns “they” and “them” makes it sound like they’re talking about Quinn and another person (Kellan? Kenny?), but when asked what they meant, Corbin Fisher clarified that the “they” and “them” was only in reference to Quinn.
